The title says absolutely nothing of use. You may as well just said "lose weight." - it would've been just as meaningful.

The source code is available on the download page, and it's always up-to-date.

Do you mean the version on your distro's repositories? You'll have to complain to your distro about that. It's not our fault most Linux distros other than Debian have moderately stupid repository update policies.

OpenSuse provides very up-to-date release versions of WZ via their Build Service.

And there are always the source code tarballs for those willing to do the traditional ./configure; make; make install dance.

Paul Wise (pabs3 on IRC) is also very good when it comes to updating the Debian builds.

As for Ubuntu, we stay away from them and they stay away from us.

9.04 (Jaunty) isn't too bad actually: 2.1.3, which is what I would expect. (See https://launchpad.net/warzone2100/+distributions for details.)

That's why I remembered to specify "other than Debian".

As for everyone else, I'll add Gentoo and OpenSUSE to the list of distros that actually update themselves.

It'll be out of date soon after Jaunty is actually released, though. The only reason Jaunty has 2.1.3 is because I poked them with a long stick a few times, and they'll fall behind the minute Jaunty is actually released. :/

You won't need so.

The problem with ubuntu is that the repositories are updated at the same time as the disto, and remain frozen until the next version come out.

So, you have to use third-party repositories to get up to date packages.

I have a question, how come no one makes a Ubuntu .deb package for ubuntu to download from the wz site?

The source is easy enough. It's just a ./configure && make

I was just asking because it seems for Windows converts who are afraid of the terminal won't compile it.
