Warzone keeps crashing on startup.

Every time I try to start warzone, it exits. I can fully navigate around the menu, but not get into gameplay. Can some 1 please help?

Specs:
AMD Athalon XP 2400+
256 mb ram
32 mb gpu (SiS Mirage Graphics)

Do you have donwloaded the game in the WRP site? which version you play? Have you tried to reinstall the game?

That sounds quite low-level. I guess 2.0 will run on that, trunk will not. Not sure about 2.1/2.2, those might work if you reduce the texture size in the options (and your graphics driver supports all needed stuff, perhaps you need to update that as well).

I play version 2.1.3, the latest I believe. I have already tried to update my drivers, but my internet seems too slow. 1mbps the most.

yeah the new builds don't work on most low end graphic cards anymore. I've lost about 75% of my warzone game time because it no longer runs on my laptop.

It's the cost of progress I guess...

Same thing happens to me with both 2.1.1 and 2.1.3 on SIS M760 GX. Perhaps this is a graphics card issue?
Note: 2.0.10 works.

Maybe.... I can run other games and they work fine. I have the original Warzone 2100 CD, did a full install, but failed on startup just like in the RP version. I tried software, d3d, and 3dfx, but none of them worked, except software. I was only able to play through the tutorial on software mode.

I have three other laptops, in which one of them had ati graphics, but all three are missing their Windows copies, so Warzone 2100 is at a sit-still for me.

This is a very low-end machine for gaming. 256 Mb is about enough memory to run your operating system. SiS cards are famous for their poor OpenGL support.

Maybe time for some upgrades? Memory is cheap nowadays and even a low-end nVidia card will do better than what you have.

I am yet planning on A LOT of upgrades. But, you can't help the graphics. They are built into the motherboard, so all you need is a better graphics card. But I just discovered my PC is having a heat problem. I've spent the hours since my last post looking into the situation. I will have to buy some cooling supplies first, but I thank for the suggestions.

Often times, the on-board features can be disabled in the BIOS. This lets you drop in a card for more power/functionality.

Yes, that is true.

I am not sure if the video card is the problem. It won't take me to the gameplay part is the problem.

So, any other suggestions??? :-S

I had same problem on my uncle's laptop (with SiS integrated graphics)
The game started.... When I uninstalled graphics drivers =))) But it was unable to play cause game ran sooo slow =)
I want to install GNU/Linux on this laptop and then try to play. If it'll change something I'll write it here =)
