Why does the edit option get removed after a while, I'd just like to know. You can edit a post by clicking the edit button for the relevant post, sometimes for only a limited time after the post was made.
Why aren't we allowed to edit our posts after a while?

In the forum faq it states:
"...If pure awesomeness were bricks, this would be the Great Wall of China...
The glory of this has collapsed on its self so far, that even the neutrons have collapsed."

Re: Why aren't we allowed to edit our posts after a while?
It gets confusing. You say "This is red," someone else says "No, it's not, it's blue", but then you edit your post so you say "This is blue" and then it all just messes up.Mysteryem wrote:Why does the edit option get removed after a while, I'd just like to know.
Re: Why aren't we allowed to edit our posts after a while?
The edit time is set to 48 Hours right now, which should be quite enough to edit mistakes and restructure some parts one or two days later. But after a certain point, a discussion / post should simply be final, otherwise later edits can destroy the whole sense of a topic and nearly no one would notice.
This might be sufficient for posts/topic where people try to keep an up2date state in the initial post, but for this case you can simply add a new post with the note that someone of the moderation team might update the front-post, I don't think that someone with edit-rights would ignore it. Otherwise write a PM to a more or less active team member here

We all have the same heaven, but not the same horizon.
