Music
Hello I'm new here but I've been playing warzone for the last 10 years nearly. I just wanted to say though you guys are doing a brilliant job and installed the latest build and the fmvs and all works okay. Two things though. In my eyes the weapons need rebalancing because when I had the game for the play station the light cannons were far more effective than they are here. In fact I used to use Light cannons and hyper velocity through the whole game. My second thing is will the game have the original music and sound effects in any future releases. The original music for me was a major part of the game for me and are important.
Oh by the way when I was researching the mortar parts and went to the intelligence panel the game crashed when it played the little video and the game process disappeared whether this fmvs or the game I don't know. But It was the first or second research for the mortar. When i restarted the game and watched the mortar video agian after having to play the whole level again it played without any problems.
I can remember get this game for free with a brand new playstation all that time ago and only just lost the game which is okay cause a i don't have a playstation but this could be the most underrated game in my opinion. Sorry for the long post but if you listen, you listen . If you don't, you don't But it would be good if you could take the points into consideration. Thanks.
EDIT: New problem my saved game has disappeared. I'm using the latest trunk. Can anyone tell me where the save game is in the directory.

Re: Music
Welcome to the forums!
Enjoy your stay and become a member of the amazing online community we call Warzone 2100 resurrection xD
Re: Music
You can use original music, as it's now part of the GPL (with FMVs), you should just search around the forums, download it, remove the music mod from [program files]\Warzone 2100\mods, make a "music" directory in the Warzone directory and put in the music files in .ogg format.
After that, you have to make a new file called "music.wpl", where you are listing music files you are using, like this.
Use a simple trackname for your files to prevent errors and not playing tracks.
About the savegames, they should be located in your Warzone 2100 directory under Files: just copy your savegames from there.
Oh, and welcome, of course

trackone.ogg
trackthree.ogg
trackfour.ogg

Re: Music
To be fair, Google brought me to http://wz2100.net/ and from there I just found lots of dead ends and "under construction" sorts of things. Using the forum search for "music", "download music", "install music", and the like dredged up tons of posts that didn't tell me anything about where to put the files if I found them, where to find them, how to enable them... Mostly just outdated posts about the original music not being available or stating that this information was available in other posts (without any links to those other posts).
This thread is the first I found with any real information. I am unable to find any obvious links from site or forums to a wiki, and the User Guide part of the site is blank. Perhaps the original poster could be helped by just making the information more obvious?
Perhaps a sticky or two would do.

Re: Music
Ok, found the first linkage to the Docs Project viewtopic.php?f=4&t=668
but only after:
- learning that the User Guide link is pointless (under construction, with no content and no redirection or linkage to the Docs Project)
- reading the FAQ linked on the project homepage
- seeing several references to the existence of the Docs Project while using the forum Search to look for ways to load the original music
- getting a few search results claiming that the music information is available elsewhere (in other posts or threads with no thread names or links given)
- seeing lots of rants about people asking for the questions over and over again
- coming across another FAQ with some different content somewhere within the forums (but still not related to what I was searching for)
- finding the info I need info I needed in this thread (and thus, giving up on finding the proper docs)
- browsing the forums randomly to kill some time after a game and stumbling upon the link pasted at the top of this post.
Recommendations:
Put a link to the Docs Project in the User Guide page.
Consider putting links to specific forum topics that answer common questions in the User Guide page
Maybe merge the FAQs and include or link to information like the answer found in this thread. If people ask about it enough that people get tired of answering, it's probably a FAQ.
Whenever feeling more patient than is warranted, post links to the relevant information when people ask questions that have already been answered elsewhere instead of just commenting that the information has already been provided.

Re: Music
Aye, that forum section's where I found the thread that I linked. After browsing the docs project a bit, I don't see the sound information that I was looking for, and the stickied thread of course didn't turn up with the forum search. >.<
I asked a few outsiders to look at my posts to make sure I wasn't coming off as ban-bait, since you seemed annoyed about the info request in this thread already. ^_^;;; One of them directed me to the news post about the site being reworked, which also contains a link to the Wiki frontpage. This thread had what I needed, though. I'll see what I can do to help with the site switch-over...now that I've finished getting this thread completely off-topic. x-:
((fix-fix: I need to spend more time on the preview page before submitting))

Re: Music
my rant (not really - just frustrated that after spending over 6 years in gathering from others and putting it all together, persons just keep asking for the link... even though it is posted in several places. oh well. xD )
nothing i say should be taken as a rant enabled towards (you or anyone else) unless i explicitly state that your getting on my last and only nerve... in which case out comes the big ban stick ( note : i dont believe i have ever used that (yet). ) xD and welcome to the community. hope your experiences are all good.
