4 short "ideas"

Post by schlegel »

1) hotkey to center the map to the location of the last message (like "structure under attack" or "uni lost")
2) minimap should display battles (for example as bubbles like oil ressources but colored in red or something)
3) i'm not really sure but i think the aa cannons are weaker than in the original version. the first yellow one (forgot the name :-S ) is quite useless... even against weak and slow vtols...
4) in my version (ubuntu repositories) the building limitations doesn't work. is this bug fixed yet? i find this feature very important

but all in all: nice work - thank you for resurrecting warzone2100 :D
there are a lot of suggestions to create new weapons turrets etc. but i think playability (map etc.) should be improved for first...

I don't know about the other stuff, but I think the version in the Ubuntu repositories is very old.
in the versions I've played the AA guns work quite well, though you obviously have to upgrade them a lot to be able to kill stuff before they've managed to fire at least once.

version 3595 sounds really old, considering the latest windows builds at http://warzone.mortis.eu/nightly-builds/ are up to 6245 (and version numbers generally only rise by a few digits per day) now.
I have no idea how to get newer versions on Ubuntu though, all the nightly builds I can find are for Windows.

You really have to build nightlies yourself for most operating systems.

too bad, it would be good to have .deb and .rpm builds so people who use other OS'es than Windows can also try out the latest nightly build without having expert knowledge in *nix systems (since Ubuntu and Redhat are also targeted to the average or new computer user).

F12?
doesnt always work though(doesnt go always go to the last report, though this may just be the "structure under attack" report)
2) minimap should display battles (for example as bubbles like oil ressources but colored in red or something)
could be interesting.
but something like the cross hairs from the original fmv would be more warzone
also, id would be a map graphic i havnt seen in a game.

they dont target predict. (may do so later? im only entering cam 1 now)
its not that they do less damage, they just dont hit, its a side effect of the new hit system i think.
but a dev would be better able to answer that.
i can barely code a .bat to start a few different things from one link. :(

also why did you nerf the scourge missiles??? those were so cool... they were well good range and damage but really expensive, perfect!
