mission 12 help!! enemy escaping.
mission 12 help!! enemy escaping.
i need help in mission 12... it says "enemy escaping" then the mission is failed.. i know it is the enemies' TRANSPORTER.. i tried to take it down but i always fail

I can never really remember mission numbers but IIRC:
You need to intercept the enemy away team before they return to their LZ. You will need to work quite fast on this mission, take a team east past the scavengers into the valley (you may want to take out the scav factories so to stop annoyance units, but taking out everything will just waste time.) If you are fast enough then you should meet the enemy away team moving east along the valley. After you have taken out the team and picked up the artefact you should have until the timer runs out to take out the enemy LZ.

to destroy their LZ just place 8-10 mortars and 1-2 sensor towers,that should do the work.

near to the enemy lz but be careful to not go too close.

On PS i remember that u needed to use cyborgs.While they are moving-they are immrtal!That was on PS and there is no this on PC!I was really surprised.Cyborgs ran fast and took artifact.Try this.Cyborgs are fast and can easily run fast enough,to not give chance to enemie keep moving to LZ.

the enemy arent important
its the artefact you need
if you are quick you can ambush them in the canyon & steal the artefact before they retreat to their LZ.

ahhh.... yes i remember that mission. it gave me trouble at first too, until i learned that there is 2 routes to winning. easiest is to just take out the enemies in the canyon, where the red marker is at first, but beware, as soon as you start moving towards, about even with the scavenger base, the vid pops up and they head to the lz. you can either kill them there, or you can build a butt load of machine gun turrets where the drop ship comes from, i'd think it'd take at least 20 in its path. but that's still risky, and regaurdless you'd have to sell them afterward as to not waste resources. make it a point to always sell your defenses in drop ship missions before leaving if you haven't allready. now I have a QUESTION. on disk 2 there is a drop ship mission where enemy escapes. you start out in the bottom right corner, there is a base above you and one on the opposite side of the map from it. there's a sensor tower and mortars launching at you from the get go. lots of lancer towers around the area inbetween the bases. what i can't find is the units, or escape point. i tried assaulting either base and i can nearly wipe either one out in less than 10 minutes of arrival by drop ship. i find that its not the amount of time but how close you are to the base that causes the escape. ( i think ) I've also searched all the areas in between and just can't figure it out. this is all thats stopping me from completing the game. ( I've beat the level once with my brothers help, i just don't remeber that spot) the farthest i've been is the level right after . ( yes the level you start getting vtol technology on. once again i must say i think ) well if you understood the level as i explained, maybe you could help...

srry bout this one. what i use for the level i CAN beat is 2 loads, of light cannon viper wheels to stop them as my commander teams ( by then i have 3 that can hold at least 14 units to 18) charge in and clean up ( expect some sacrifices for the greater good though) I normally set up a commander with the heaviest tanks i have ( i don't use tracks or half tracks though ;/) i like having my bombards with hover..
O one last idea
what if you made it to where only light bodies and medium bodies can't use tracks, but half tracks, wheels and hover. And to where only heavy bodies have the option of tracks... you'd have to change the tech tree though. ( they cost a lot of resource, for a toss up on advantage... depending) i see it as , a lot of the time in a tight space, your front tanks get retreat to get healed because they're blocked by slow moving units that cant get out of the way in time and you watch in horror as one of your units with 150 + kills gets massacred. i avoid that the best i can by always building a repair facility right behind my units grouping. so every time you move forward there's one nearby so they don't have to travel as far to live. ( keep an eye out for when they take the stupid way to the repair place though, if they start going past the enemy base to go repair, its time to build a more convenient and SAFE place to repair) sigh... thats happened a lot..

they escape in south west corner.
blow some buildings to put a repair centre near where they will cross the water.
use bunkers to distract enemy fire & kill em with anti tank stuff.
then atempt to attack their bases to trigger the escape flag & they will come to you in the s/w.

In 1st transport send 5 lancers and 5 cannons. Set them at "do-or-die". Order them to move to place marked by red dot. Quickly kill the biggest tank you will find there and capture artifact. After that you can easily retreat, gather more force and crush enemy. After recovering artifact enemy will not escape.
