I'd suggest you to open xFire, add every contact from here, and ask someone if he wants to have a game. Don't use the lobby, because it is usually empty.

Can the beta go online with full capabilities as the stable release? I have 2.1 beta and I wish to play.

The stable release (2.0.10) is named "stable" just because it's the latest non-beta version, but in this case it's the beta version which looks to be stable.
Developers did a great job with multiplayer stability with these betas, and we are not getting any mp crash, for now...
