ADDING OR MODDING THE TRANSPORT droid type!

I want to create a new droid type called "HEAVY_TRANSPORTER", which carries vehicles and cyborgs, and can hold at max 40 Units

Did is possible to create a new category of Transport which carry tanks and cyborgs at same time and carry much more units than the Cyborg Transport?

In "templates.txt" in the "mp.wz", there's also the "Transport" template, and the "droid type" is written "TRANSPORTER" but it's only able to carry cyborgs.

Please help, i will be very grateful if someone helps!

lol, can you imagine the ungodly base rape if one of these fully loaded transports dumps its load in your base? That's me f***ed.....

That said, i would like to see some kind of tank transporter aircraft. maybe make it more of a lightly armoured cargo mover blimp style vehicle rather than some ungodly behemoth with 5 metres of layered composite armour on it....

this is the old aivolution mod with one of my old maps - as you can see the transports do actually work. :3

Ah I miss that, coordinated drop was one of the nicest and maybe deadliest Aivolution features. ;)

I think 40 units is too much for my opinion, but 20 units are enough to be deadly.

Did is possible to create a script to the transport (VLO or SLO, i don't know), for example, it can travel at any place, like the Cyborg Transporter, but carry twice of units and the ability to carry any type of droids (VTOLs, Cyborgs, Vehicles, etc)

No idea. First of all the fans and devs should decide if it makes sense to include unit transporter into skirmish/mp games. And then someone must modify the source a bit.

Yes, this should be possible (I did implement it for the "WarZones" aka "WarGods" MOD and that was with the old scripting engine, that had a weaker functionality compared to what we have now), but a scripted, simulated transporter might look not as good as as a real transporter, e.g. it could release the loaded units before it fully landed, some other glitches could occur, but for a mod this might suffice.

Yes, for the Ultimate Killer Mod, the mod that i'm still developing, it could be suffice, because it will be a great feature implement a new transport type of my mod.

I don't care if there's some glitches or not.

If you have some time to make this script to it, i will be thankful if possible.

You look to have the skills to do that. If I wasn't up to my neck in WZ work of my own, I'd give it a shot for you.... so I know if you have the same materials as me to work from you can do it.. :)

* I just remembered that some months back Troman himself made "Wargods aka Warzones Mod" compatible with the WRP binary
and posted a link to the .zip archive in the following thread for member 4nE:

* So you don't even have to use WdgExplorer.... just unpack with a .zip utility: all the files and file structure.... just open up the a.i. script code in a text prog like Notepad and you should be able to find what you need script wise... then of course all the other associated files necessary..
