The oil-problem
The addon section asked me, if the map is low/middle/high/extrem oil. So-a 4-player-map (size 100x100) 4 oil in base and 28 at the terrain- is this map low or middle? I klicked middle. Where is the definition? I am sure, we have the discussion here in the forum-but i cant find. Please help. Other example: a 2-player map- 60/100 size. 4 in base 8 at terrain? Is this low or middle?

I think at least one of these is pointed out when you create an addon.

But this
Oil Definitions
8 and under low per base
over 8-15 med per base
over 15-24 high per base
over 24 extreme per base
It is not logical. You cant compare a 90x90 4 player map with a 160X160 size map for 4 players. Ok-there must be rules to say, what is low, middle, high. It is a feeling to say after the testings is this map low or middle-oil? It depends on many factors. Where is the oil? etc. So- i understand-my maps are all low-oil, because i never put more then 4 derricks in the base. So in fact-if i put 80 oil-derricks at the terrain in a 100-100 map 4 player-map- it is a low oil map?
NoQ-you are intelligent enough to understand, what i want to say.
Although I feel I'm not done with English yet, I'm very happy with my development, but very outraged too, when I think people are angry to read my english

Re: The oil-problem
On good maps oil distribution is usually always roughly the same: a bit more dense at the bases, a bit less dense at the middle.
On most maps (even if they're not "good") most of the oil is captured by the closest player most of the time. If it's not so, then the game is already almost over. Situations when multiple derricks are constantly burning are very rare.
So the amount of oil per player, obtained by dividing number of oils by number of players, usually gives the right idea of how much income you would have during the game, what research:production ratio you are going to choose, and how many base structures of each kind you'd have to construct.
And no, this field is not supposed to carry any important information for the skirmish players (who can afford sitting at four base oils most of the game and still win, because the AI is just sooo stupid). There might exist an oil-count-like metric useful for skirmish players, but it'd be something completely different. In multiplayer matches, the above holds quite accurately: if you cannot control all the oil on your part of the map, unless it's early game, you're most likely loosing.
