I also have this version and have never had a issue with the game crashing for me i just ignore that warning.

I do see it is complaning about shaders you could turn shaders off it might help

/home/(YourName)/.warzone2100-3.1

Open your config file in that folder with gedit or other text editor and find the entry shaders=2 you should change this to shaders=1 this will turn shaders off save the file before you start the game.
This I hope helps.

Also make sure your video card drivers are up to date use the hardwear manager to check for better or driver manager what ever its call on your ubuntu its in you administation menu.

It causes mod problems, and sometimes map transfer problems in multiplayer #3680, and actually nobody knows what else.

But yeah, your biggest problem is shaders.

Um that's an old one, I had that gpu some time ago. I don't think modern wz would run well on free drivers, if at all (even on my next gpu, namely X1950, it was still poor on free drivers), and I also think that even in ubuntu 12.04 they ship fglrx/catalyst that has already dropped support for these gpus.

You may find source code for the last v2.3 release here. Apart from multiplayer, which requires the latest version, and compatibility with modern mods, it should more or less work. But again, on free drivers on that hardware ... not sure, i think i always used fglrx back then.

Which reminds me, what exactly version of wz are you currently running? If it's accidentally one of the 3.1 betas from some ubuntu repos, it might have some opengl detection problems (?) (so this message might be sort of false positive, i think something like that happened on some betas).

The older versions ran ok on mesa/r200, of course not that fast. Not sure if the hardware/mesa support what 3.1+ needs though.

I solve the problem with downgrade the package to 2.3.8.

I think that is important if in the forum can open a sub forum with deb packages (old) of older version because i think this problem can be constant on new releases because many people still use older graphic cards, and maybe cant find the old deb packages.

In my case 2.3.8 works well but i remember that i have this same problem on 13.04 , 13.10. So maybe other users can be affected by this same problem.

Thanks a lot!
