I guess I made it onto Cheater list(s)

Hi All,

When trying to connect to multiplayer games (without the need for a password), there are quite some games I'm just not getting in. I click the game, then for about 10 to 15 seconds nothing changes. The lobby window is frozen. Then all resumes to normal, meaning I'm in the lobby looking at the games available and I can click games again, or return to the game menu.

I guess I made it onto Cheater list(s). I never used them (that goes for cheats as well as the cheater lists) so I have no clue on how things work and look exactly, but I think my IP is blocked by quite a number of players. In the course of my wz career I have encountered enough badly playing crybabies (accusing me of cheating) to make it onto some block lists. Can anyone with more knowledge on the subject confirm my suspicion ?

I'm afraid I know the answer, but still... Is there anything I can do in order to be removed from those lists, more then announcing on this forum that I'm no cheater.

On the other hand I do wonder if I even want to be removed from those lists, for then I'll probably encounter a lot more crybabies again than I'm lately meeting....

There are no cheater list(s) global enough. Moreover, there are hardly any cheaters on 3.1. And if somebody doesn't realize even that, you do not want to play with him anyway. I guess connectivity problems are much more likely, like a paranoid firewall on your side, or they just close the game before anybody is able to join, or don't forward ports properly, or something like that.

Try getting to IRC, there somebody will probably be able to investigate your problem by hosting games and experimenting. Or just to find a few adequate players who don't believe in UFOs, yetis or cheater lists.

Basically what NoQ said, it sounds like something is being blocked on your end, or perhaps the ISP is blocking something.

You should have errors in the log telling you why you can't connect, so post those.

Thx for the replies. I'll have a look at the error logs (and post here if I see any reason for that)

I might add that I'm rather sure it's nothing on my end (being no noob on IT). Port forwarding on my router is correctly configured, port 2100 is opened on my router and firewall, I can host games without any problem and most games I can get in without any problem. The ones I cannot get in show players entering the game (f.e.2/4, then 3/4), so they did not stop hosting it or so. When this happens, I can enter other games, just not the one I happened to choose first, which makes me think the host of that particular game is actively and willingly blocking me somehow. Multiple attempts, show I'm not ever getting in, which rules out some sort of temporary problem. In the mean time I see more and more players join that particular game.

If they kicked you once, then yeah, your blocked from going into that game again, until they restart a new game.
