Since I play WZ, I can't understand why the energy output drops after I have finished developing the gas turbine generator.
May be one of you knows the answer...?

After having developed "Gas turbine engine", energy flow decreases.

look at your use of the research labs.... how many oil wells are producing and the amount of your power stations.
you will need 1 power station per every 4 oil wells...
using all 5 of the research labs... hopefully you have at least 15 to 20 working oil wells. ;D

Oh, maybe I shold stop the production of one or two of my 14 factories?
No, that's not the reason. Even if I don't produce antything and not build and do not any research, there is a decrease in power output exactly at the second the gas turbine engine comes available.
I think, it's a bug - but I'm not sure...

Maybe it's just me, but I think I have this problem too.

Although I can not be certain I highly doubt that researching Gas turbine engine would have *any* effect on power flow. Correlation does not prove causation. I will look into it further. Say tuned

Thanks!EvilGuru wrote:I will look into it further.
This strange energy drop has been in original game as well. Therefore it's not a bug in newly compilations.
Fortunately you normally don't need the gas turbine engine, so it's not necessary to research it.

Judging from what I see in mp.wz/stats/functions.txt and mp.wz/stats/research/multiplayer/researchfunctions.txt (and speaking of 2.0.x :X) there is no link between researching any engine-upgrade and getting a decrease in energy production (yes, physicists, you may kill me for this statement ;X).
The relevant entries of both files:
EDIT: I looked at the order the researches and functions for Vapor Turbine Generator/Power Generator in general appear in-game and I did not find anything wrong with it. Warzone works as expected when you research something that sets your energy-output to +2000% (in relation to "no upgrades") and then you research something that sets your energy-output to +20% (in relation to "no upgrades"): You will end up having only +20% energy-output, so researching the +20%-topic did no good to you. See this as a side-note as I looked through those data-files and did not find evidence for this (at least possible) case here.

Re: After having developed "Gas turbine engine", energy flow decreases.
Weird ive just done a simple test under 2.0.8, with 8 oil derrick's connected to 2 upgraded power plants: power generated in 90 seconds with out the gas turbine generator was 626 and with same setup but with the gas turbine generator researched power generated was 534, ill test this again when im a little less tired.
Yep there's quite a few unused functions, some even have entries in resstrings.txt:Kreuvf wrote:Only thing is - and I just noticed this - that there is no research-topic using the function Vehicle-Engine10.
Vehicle-Engine10 entry from resstrings.txt wrote://R-Vehicle-Engine10 Ionizing Turbine Engine
RES_V_EN10_MSG1 _("Vehicle Engine Upgrade")
RES_V_EN10_MSG2 _("Ionizing Turbine Engine")
RES_V_EN10_MSG3 _("Improves vehicle speed")
RES_V_EN10_MSG4 _("All vehicles upgraded automatically")

Wait, so do you mean the engine upgrade, or the power module upgrade? Because I go for the Power Module upgrade ASAP...

In my EDIT I was talking about those power generator-upgrades, before I was talking about the Gas Turbine Upgrade (and engine-upgrades in general).Normandy wrote: Wait, so do you mean the engine upgrade, or the power module upgrade? Because I go for the Power Module upgrade ASAP...
