Operating System Poll
As a developer I would be quite interested to know what operating system people usually play Warzone on.

Re: Operating System Poll
Well I used Win98 for most of my playing days then changed to XP, but had a few problems as I recall with one of the Hot Fixes that Micro$haft put out for XP and that kind of killed my WZ days, well I was already into other games at the time so it was no big deal.
Anyways I am looking at getting me a Laptop in the next week or so, and it will have Windows Vista on it, my question to anyone that has Windows Vista is how is it running on that ?

I've created "something that kills people." And in that purpose, I was a success. I've done this because, philosophically, I'm sympathetic to your aim. I can tell you, with no ego, this is my finest sword. If, on your journey, you should encounter God, God will be cut.......Hattori Hanzo

Re: Operating System Poll
why does the poll show linux/unix in bold? it's clearly not the most used platform for warzone amongst those who voted.

It is not set in the poll-setup. I think it just shows what you voted.
(And when I logout nothing is bold anymore...)
And: Of those currently 6 Linuxers, I bet 5 are devs.

Re: Operating System Poll
Warzone started running extremely slowly for me after I installed Vista.
It runs with that really slow FPS, both in the menu screen and gameplay.
it's quite annoying if you ask me.

Re: Operating System Poll
there's a good chance that opengl is rendering in software mode on vista for you -- as long as you have the aero interface running, directx is active at that point, and it precludes opengl from rendering in hardware. this is true for any opengl games -- if you want it to run fast, turn off aero first.Serman wrote: Warzone started running extremely slowly for me after I installed Vista.

That is an extremely intriguing observation you've made, DevUrandom.DevUrandom wrote:And: Of those currently 6 Linuxers, I bet 5 are devs.![]()
The best thing to do when your philosophies don't stand up to debate is to lock the thread and claim victory.

Re: Operating System Poll
Probably the result from the fact that lots of GNU/Linux users tend to discuss things on their distro's forums as well (e.g. just search for "warzone" on the Ubuntu forums). So that decreases the chances of those users also looking at these forums (in comparison to for example Windows users).Chojun wrote: That is an extremely intriguing observation you've made, DevUrandom.

yeah, and the typical linux distro way of reporting bugs or asking questions is "bug the package (for that distro) maintainer". if it's a bug, and it's not the maintainer's fault, then they'll bug someone over here (hopefully).

Re: Operating System Poll
Looks like more then 10% who voted atm use Vista.
The amount is already higher then I thought it would be.
