Hello

Post by Kargan3033 »

First off I just want to say thank you to everyon who has not only made WZ 2100 such a fine game but also everyone who has kept this fine game going storng dispite it's age.

I have downloaded WZ 2100 3.1 RC3 and the lastest verison of Flame, Ultimit Scav Mod and Nullbot.

I would like to know is there an AI editing kit like Flame?

The only game I have moded was Doom 2(God I'm old) and since I'm just going to tinker around with Flame and and what not Iwill not be relasing any world beating mods right off the hop.

o any advice will be welcomed and to the creatators of NullBot and Ultimite Scav mod would you mind if I tinkered around with them?
Don't worry I will NOT realised my tinkered verison of them as my own works I WILL give full create to you for doing the leg work.

Another old-school gamer that likes Doom, eh? I was like, what, 9 when I 1st played Doom and Doom 2, though I was never aware that people were working on developing custom maps and mods to that game, until I got older that is. (That, and I was naive to the fact that the enemies that I was killing were not evil henchmen, aliens, and monstrous experiments, but zombies and demons from Hell. :lol2: )

Anyways, I heard that, several years ago, someone made an AI editor for Warzone 2100, but it no longer works due to all the changes to the game that have occurred over the years. For now, I'd imagine that you'll need to learn how to program using JavaScript if you want to edit things like research paths, which units to design, etc. (While a JavaScript editing program would help in this regard, the files can be read and edited with a simple .txt editing program like Wordpad if you don't have such an editor.)

@Kargan The .wz files are just .zip files renamed to .wz so warzone recognises them - as such you can unarchive the mods you've downloaded so far and have a look inside to see how they were made. The JS API is documented here: http://buildbot.wz2100.net/files/javasc ... cript.html (some of those features only work on the 3.2+ developer version of WZ).
