In-Game Movie Events

As the topic suggests, would it be considered possible and desirable for there to be implemented a means of inserting conditional animation sequences using the active game?

Possible cues for sequences could be varied:

mission success
mission failure
total power worth exceeds X
Checkpoint reached
Certain Unit/ Structure hp reaches X level
Time elapsed
etc.

This would permit events like a transport entering the map, heading for a particular landing zone, or some more elaborate series of events.

If text boxes could also be implimented - then such could also open the way for further campaign development and depth. No need to insert movies - simply use in-game effects to, for example, represent a nuclear shockwave chasing after a fleeing transport.
