Map folder overwhelmed and what now?

Post by Merowingg »

Hello Gentlemen :)

I would like to know how many maps I can have in the maps folder in 2.3.9 and Beta 3 (up) without problems like maps disappearing?

How does it function, and how to cure? In the past I remember that if I have reduced the maps number, the maps closer to A letter in name finally appeared, but now it seems not to solve my problem.

I would be obliged if somen introduce me to the problem, and why maps number is finally limited?

Regards,

Mero, the man who starts to lose maps ;)

I had that same issue a few months back (I guess I played too much) but what I did was delete them all. :3

This would probably be harder for you because you want to keep all of your maps. I suggest deleting the maps you don't like until the ones you do show up. :D

I don't know why the maps are limited..but someone more informed might be able to help. :)

The UI code in WZ is very old and grim. It's hard-coded and very difficult to change without breaking lots of stuff. Currently there are hard-coded limits to how many items can be shown, etc. This also affects the number of AIs that can be listed when setting up a game. Hi The Ovelrord :)

Well I had this problem few times already in over three years time. But when I deleated some maps, especially the trial ones with special markings it was all good again, but not this time.

Keeping the maps, here surprise ;), is not so hard for me, I know all the maps as every litle tile of it is by my hands :D I do not say it wouldn be nice to have all the maps but it has become imposibble I think some time ago already :3

The case it I was always wondering what is the limit, and now the time has come :augh:

aubergine, thank you :) but what are the numbers? I am certain someone knows something and how it works.

I think I will simply remove al lthe maps, I cannot host multiplayer at present, and if I join a game people see nightmare in ping ;)

To sum up, please someone help poor mapmaker ;)

Greetings to all,

Mero RekamPam

Actually, this is a different problem, and is solvable--if someone has time to do it. :stressed:
It is a pretty simple change, since you see notes in the code about how to fix this.

The AI listing is also a different issue, and while you could shrink the size of the 'buttons' down, you will sooner or later still run out of space. We really need a scrollable listbox here.

The hard coded stuff has to do with menus themselves.

I entirely agree with you, it is the heart of our game I dare to say. The entire rest is the body. It is on the maps that we use entire rest.

At the same time I feel neglected ;) as I was not told what is the limit or anything?
