Lan game not working

My brother and I are trying to play lan game, I got a laptop and my bro usues a computer. He makes a game (Hosting) and i try to join but cant, whats wrong. When my bro makes the game and is hosting at the bottom there is a server message that say this (server message, your game is now listed on the lobby server, its is almost time to release 3.1! check wz2100.net for latest version)so that means my bro is connected, right? so its something to do with me and my laptop well thats what we think anyway.
We already have 3.1rc2 update and thats what we use on both computers, we really need help.

Are you in one network beyond a router? Then you need to connect by IP, not via lobby.
