I get the message, and it wasn't me. I only play as "ISA- Subsentient". Someone who doesn't like that Denisius guy (name nastiness inappropriate for the forums) hosted a bunch of games. He really didn't get the message or something because it acted like it does when you don't open your ports.
Either that or he's got a bad client.

@Originway: Simply because (and your behaviour here on the forums makes this obvious) you would do something like that, doesn't mean everyone is as debased and lacking in values as yourself. I'd suspect you far more if the roles were reversed, though I am not accusing you.

Perhaps some good can come of this - in terms of modifications to strengthen the lobby security.

I think that it can be agreed that an attempt by a budding project to debase this one in order to feed itself disgruntled users would be an exercise in poor judgement. Weakening the player base of a game is not going to serve any entity with any love for the game, even if a variant.

Enjoyment for the game and enthusiasm promotes the supply of talent interested in developing it - including splinters.

Not only would it be poor judgement, unethical, dishonest, and sneaky, it'd also give Originway a leg to stand on for his hatred of me and apparently everything I create. Part of the goal and reason for the creation of Warzone 2100 Legacy was to create a more civil, ethical (one of the developers knows what I am talking about), and honest community. Starting my community by an act of evil would not only just be wrong, it'd oppose the very spirit of Warzone 2100 Legacy. I am vehemently disgusted and appalled at this accusation.

Also, if the developers want, they may check my commits for fixing of crashes related to unclosed lobby sockets I did a few weeks ago. One player said he kept crashing, but I dunno if that's what was happening to everyone.

I have seen no hard evidence that this is some organized plot. Are you suggesting there is some cabal dedicated to the failure of this project ? Many past contributing individuals who felt slighted over the years have simply left and no longer invest any effort whatsoever. Totally hands off is how they express themselves. Literally, these folks are entirely removed from anything involving WZ. They are NOT acting to do any harm. In truth, the Peter Principle (deeply manifest from the '06 conclave going forward) is more than sufficent to undermine these proceedings and that is purely self-inflicted.

Don't agree that this poses any threat to this project.

I have solid historical fact and primary sources for that judgement.

A few years ago I worked on a WZ fork Project (forked from Pumpkin's original source code of 1999).

In our fork Project Team meetings on IRC two members of THIS team participated with us. They were welcome (we actually had some fun times engageing) and, as a result of these interactions, this project directly and tangibly benefitted. That same potential exits with these current forks.

I don't wanna get into any flamey exchanges here.

I never said I hated anything. I just told you facts and you did not want to believe them then you and your buddies start attacking me in other threads as well. You act as if it is my fault that your version runs like crap on my system.
fact, you want more people to visit your site
fact, you want more developers
fact, the quickest way to make that happen is to bad mouth this project and the developers on every chance you get both on here and on irc and I would not be shocked that you or one of your buddies are the ones behind the rash of bad lobby games that coincidentally started the same time your posted about your project

The facts are that I would personally destroy all connections to anyone who did wrong to forward Legacy and revert any and all commits they made, to save my project's name, (which by the way, you are so obviously trying to destroy by the very existance of this thread.) and, more importantly, punish the one(s) responsible. That's the kind of underhanded, sneaky, immoral crap that prompted the need for a seperate community for Legacy.

The facts are that you have indeed called me a LIAR over my project, when nothing I said was ever, at least, known at the time to be false, (found one benchmark I did to be later inaccurate, but by that time it had faded to irrelevance) and you have pointed out, quite rudely, problems with the game and then refused to give me any information so I can assist you and make my game better, so YES, in a way, you ARE responsible for why this game runs terribly on your box. As far as personal attacks go, they were not started by me, nor would I ever want to start them, but they are a result of your own actions. Cause and effect.

The facts are that I am not the only person voicing a negative opinion over the way the game is headed, but I do in fact try to keep ranting down to a minimum. I actually decided to do something about it rather that sit and annoy everyone by complaining all over IRC and the forums, though I do find developer comments of "change it yourself" destructive in most cases, because most players can't, and their patch is unlikely to be accepted.

The facts are that I once again offered netcode bugfixes of mine over this very incident to the wz2100.net project over a report from one user that his game was crashing when trying to connect to the lobby.

The facts are that while I no longer enjoy this site's version of the game, for those that do, I have no reason to make it less enjoyable to them and would not do so, simply because it's wrong.

The facts are that anyone who has known me for any decent amount of time, without listening to detractors like YOU without evidence, will tell you quite well that I at least TRY, rather HARD, to be an ethical person. Most of my ENEMIES even acknowledge this, which is WHY THEY ARE MY ENEMIES, because they do not care who they hurt.
