Will these files be enough? And I didn't think that asking simple questions was spamming. I mean, it's not like the entire forums were being flooded with useless and/or vulgar threads or something, I just wanted some help, and it seemed that people were just ignoring me, which is a little bothersome to me. I'm sorry if I caused an issue, but I was just trying to get some useful help is all. Is that such a big deal?

I think what he meant by spamming was opening up more than one thread about the same issue. :wink:

Well, being as I've not seen anything that says you can't or shouldn't, I didn't think it was a problem. If a dev had responded sooner than over half a week later, then I wouldn't have opened multiple threads. I guess it just didn't seem like such an issue for a dev to take one, small, quick look at the issue. I hope it wasn't too big an issue, though, because I certainly didn't mean any harm by it.

No, not enough. Upload the full mod as a .mod.wz

Believe it or not, we devs have a life, and sometimes we have more urgent things to attend to. Making one new thread is annoying, but acceptable since it was in Tech Support. Two is just ridiculous, and counts under "flooding" which is banned by the site policy.

Well, I've just been editing the txt files in stats, so it's not exactly a mod, that I'm aware of, anyways, so I'm not sure what to do. Also, I didn't know that more than just 1 was counted as flooding, sorry :(

Well, package the txt files into a mod, then:

Like this? Sorry, I don't want to be bothersome, but even with the link you gave, I'm still don't exactly understand how to make something into a .mod.wz file :(

No... look inside those two files and you can see the difference.

Besides that I included the whole mp folder with mine, as opposed to just the stats folder, I'm afraid I don't really see any difference, sorry :(

Yeah, that's the problem. You can't include the whole mp folder, you have to include what's inside it.

And you should really only include the files you change. I suppose you'll probably need both the messages and stats folders, though.

The directory structure needs to be be able to find, say:

testmod.mod.wz :: stats/weapons.txt

With, your mod:

mp copy.mod.wz :: stats/weapons.txt doesn't exist.

since in yours, it's in:

mp copy.mod.wz :: mp copy/stats/weapons.txt

Alright, so like this then? I would have just included these two folders, but since I wasn't sure what all you'd need to figure out the problem, I thought I'd might as well include the whole mp folder, but now that I know, I've just got the stats and messages here. By the way, thank you for you help, and while I've already said it a number of times before, sorry about the multiple threads and whatnot. I'll be sure not to repeat that in the future.
Also, while it's not necessary, perhaps if the term 'flooding' was defined somewhere, it'd help avoid something like this in the future, since I hadn't even heard of the term flooding being used as such before, let alone knowing that it involved 2 or more threads. I only ever thought that sort of thing was when there were like 100+ threads all spammed throughout the forum, though I see I was wrong now.

I hope it's not an issue me asking this, but I was just wondering whether I provided the correct file and/or whether much progress has been done on it? I'm just wondering, so I hope this isn't an irritating question :(

Usually the forum members and administrators are kind enough to tell you wether the file is the correct one or not - once they've had time to take a look at it. Most probably they're either busy with something else (who could blame them if that's the case?) or are taking a look at the files and seeing what's wrong (who could tell them to hurry since it's free, good-willing support?). If no one ever takes a look at it (unlikely), they won't respond.

I'd reccomend that you only "bump" your topics if no one answered you in the last week or at least it reached page 2. Probably that would ensure that you're not posting repeatedly in an annoying pattern, but rather saving your post from drowning into oblivion (which is nonetheless a very unlikely thing to happen).

Anyway, that's just what I myself think. I don't have the necessary knowledge to help you anyway, and I'm currently modeling a Taiidani light corvette from Homeworld 1 since I'm with a terrible lack of inspiration for anything else and I'm still trying to solve some trouble with my sourceforge account request/activation/confirmation/e-mail thingy that didn't arrive :P

I do hope that you get help. You seem to be putting a good effort into modding, that's good, but you should take care not to sound too annoying - I believe that some people surely see it that way.

All that said, nice to see that you're putting up a real effort, and good luck with your work.
