Christheturtle, Is this request worth the effort?j0shdrunk0nwar wrote:Zarel, if it's not too much trouble, would you please update the Frequently Proposed Ideas thread with the above ideas that you mentioned? The request of what added to the list? "New weapons/Cyborgs/Structures/Technology"?

No, i meant,
Having these in the list in some way would prevent them from being requested frequently. New users are not very aware of what's happening in the trunk version...Zarel wrote:We have a few things coming up, such as gates, naval units, jetpack cyborgs, and dedicated air-to-air weapons.

Re: Improvement priority: Game Engine or New Features?
Well from what Zarel said I assume they are already being worked on, so there would be no need.

I see your point, but having these included in the list in some manner would prevent them from being requested frequently. New users are not very aware of what's happening in the trunk version...

Perhaps, I'll put the suggestion forward.

Thank you Christheturtle, however not necessarily in that thread. Maybe another sticky in Ideas and Suggestion as "features in the pipeline" would be nice, or whatever you feel appropriate..Christheturtle wrote:Perhaps, I'll put the suggestion forward.

Perhaps I misspoke, and I apologize for that.Tenoh wrote:I dont get Zarel if he think its not worth the time then why is he here at all? And didnt meant to improve engine at once i meant to expand it so future additions to the game can be implemented more easily. And its not that they dont have the time, they got all the time in the world they just dont want to.
I didn't mean that all ideas will be rejected (we wouldn't have an Ideas section if that were true), just that if we've rejected an idea because of engine limitations, we're unlikely to accept it even after a future engine rewrite. We would, as always, accept a patch that implements such an idea.
I understand that modularizing an engine can make some feature additions easier, but our engine is already fairly modular (hence, the mod system); there's not much we can do to further facilitate new features.
I've added a few, but I'm probably still missing a few.j0shdrunk0nwar wrote:Zarel, if it's not too much trouble, would you please update the Frequently Proposed Ideas thread with the above ideas that you mentioned? And maybe other things you left out?

I think you got them all. But you have some BBCode errors.Zarel wrote:I've added a few, but I'm probably still missing a few.
