Re: Please test the 2.3 beta releases!
Got a big bug in game. Was playing 4 player Rolling hills starting with no bases vs DyDo AI on FFA (no alliances). When I tried to build a dragon body with two turrets, clicking the button to add the second turret immediately exited the game to desktop. I hadn't been playing with the DyDo AI scripts before this!
Sorry I can't put up the very helpful crash dump but it's on the laptop... *sigh*
Edit: running on Windows Vista on a laptop specs ~ 2.4Ghz celeron with 1 gig ram. Never had the game crash before.

Full of ideas - Most are probably useless. Feel free to ignore them

Re: Please test the 2.3 beta releases!
Re-installed beta-11a and no more crashes. Some screenshots of some problems:
Can build on oil that you can't see - Those resources aren't on my map but if I get a lucky click, I can queue to build them anyway. Happens on many levels.
ai no resistance - AI just lets my cyborg MGs destroy it's base without sending that big army of cyborgs in the top corner to stop me. In fact, they came one or two at a time, once I had destroyed most of the base.
Cyborg with no legs - On the player screen, sometimes newly built cyborgs have no legs.

Besides what Per asked, do you know of a way to replicate this?Mats wrote: Cyborg with no legs - On the player screen, sometimes newly built cyborgs have no legs.
Was in a MP game?
2p/4p/8p Map?
How many Human players, and how many AI?
What tech level?
How many units did you produce (estimate)?
Did you only produce tons of cyborgs?
Any mods?
Were you doing anything special, and all of the sudden they had no body/head , or did you only see legs from the start of the game?
If you can, be as detailed as possible. Thanks!
We really need some help in trying to figure out how to replicate this bug.
All our test games we did, and we can't get it to do it.
and it ends here.

Cyborg with no legs:
Map: Miza-Maze
8 player skirmish vs standard AI with bars set to full.
Starting with no bases tech 1, but we were on late tech 2/early 3 at this point.
I didn't produce any cyborgs and very few units.
No active mods.
This bug actually happened several times during the game, that I saw. If I had the player screen up more, maybe it would be a very regular occurance - I wasn't looking at the player screen all that much.
Will try to be more detailed in future.

Does this mean that you guys will be making it more compatible with the Nvidia Graphics cards. Im dying to play this game without a blank terrain.

"If you have a Nvidia based Mac on 10.5.6-10.5.9, there is a bug that makes the game look wrong. To fix, upgrade to 10.6 or higher, or use these custom Nvidia drivers."

We need another release since I am running into the cyborg no body bug too often.

You must not play that much, or your the host, and the host never has that problem, as far as I can tell.Olrox wrote:Well, I never saw that bugFlank4 wrote:We need another release since I am running into the cyborg no body bug too often.![]()

The host has the cyborg bug issue as well usually everyone gets it or no does the odd time one person will. As far as I know it hasn't been confirmed to be fixed I think Cyp thought he got it but the devs couldn't make the bug happen in the first place so not sure how he would know if he found it. Hope he did though.

Re: Please test the 2.3 beta releases!
- Buginator made a "legs" command that would give information that could be used to fix it, if you used the command when you saw incomplete cyborgs.Daltx wrote:As far as I know it hasn't been confirmed to be fixed I think Cyp thought he got it but the devs couldn't make the bug happen in the first place so not sure how he would know if he found it. - Cyp tried using the "legs" command and crashed. He fixed that crash, and thought that it would fix the whole thing.
- Buginator did some more debugging and discovered it still wasn't fixed, but figured out where the problem was.
- Per fixed it.
That's pretty much the gist of what happened.
