rail/pulse was ~50 min and guass was 1:00-1:04

I think Scourge damage should be increased, res. time is pretty moot, though you do have a point about the avengers... VTOLs seem to be pretty out of hand... I remember cyclone/whirlwind AA being pretty effective back in 1.10 against even vengeance VTOLs if you had all the flak AA researched.

I've been playing the 1.10 mod a lot recently in sk - with WZ 236, it doesn't work properly with 237. First, while the dydo mod generates more early raids and the AIs attacks are more specific (mainly AA and trucks), games peter out about halfway. With the trunk rebalance, game play tension is achieved through weakening of weaponry - I assume in the interests of mp quickies. With 1.10. on the other hand (playing sk), while the AI is not concerned with early attacking, its raids can be quite lethal, because of the speed with which it researches cannon and tank bodies. You do need the (beloved) lancer bunker in order to fight off these attacks. But 1.10 really comes into its own halfway through, by which time it has pretty strong tracks, the heavy cannon and the early lasars. I've been twice torn apart by such attacks after about an hour of play - I had forgotten just how powerful the AI can be at that stage. And the end battles are definitely better.

Overall, I would say - as I have argued elsewhere - that the original WZ plan of setting strength against strength provides better overall gameplay, than the more recent emphasis of weaker against weaker. After more than ten years playing WZ, there is still nothing quite like watching a phalanx of heavy tanks rip Scourge towers apart. Unfortunately, I still haven't the nerve to sit and watch my base being completly levelled.

wudafxup, try the 1.10 mod with v236 and see what you think.
