Sure, any more reason why it would be worthy to add such severe and specific handicaps support? I think that this represents a lot of work, and believe that the devs will be motivated only if there's a real good reason to implement it.

You need to convince other people that this is a good idea

If that's so particular as to solve the situation of one possible map, this could very well be made as scripts (to keep the AI from building VTOLs), I think - it's not generalized enough tu justify the whole work for creating the feature, I guess*

*guess - because my knowledge over scripting is extremely limited, to the basics of interpreting code, but I've already seen some things ever since I've joined, so I bet it'll take some good work to implement those production permissions.

Well, then, you write a Challenge, and you write scripts to handle that.

Or, if that's too hard, you can always disable VTOL factories, then use cheats to get them.

you cant cheat in multiplayer.

the idea is for ONLINE games, for comp stomps and challanges online.

Defining a limit for only 1 player is already done in code, why not make a GUI for it?

Hmm, I think the only thing you can do in an online game is write a custom AI mod.

Defining per-unit limits should not be possible in a GUI, since writing GUI code is not easy with Warzone's GUI toolkit. It might be easier with Betawidget, but still not easy enough to just write a GUI for something as obscure as this.

I have never seen this.

All you need to do is try to research the cyclone AA site as soon as possible (but still research the hurricane AA site in-case), and place those between their base and where they're attacking. Or if you can't, just place them where they're attacking. Once you get past this point it's pretty easy, just upgrade your AA sites with more powerful AA sites as the game progresses.

The AI usually attacks with VTOLs in small numbers too, so you won't need all that many.

I've discovered that Super Pulse Laser Cyborgs work like a charm against VTOLs (high accuracy, range, and nice ROF) - of course it takes a lot of time to research, but after you've got cyclone and some damage and ROF upgrades, it's a nice thing to get, since it works very well with pretty much any ground target, also :hmm:

I like cyborgs, I dunno why people hate them so much :annoyed:

I think it could be a cool feature to disable certain features in game like VTOLs, or maybe even have a VTOL only game with the exception of trucks and structures..
I know there is a structure limiter, but I don't see and vehicle limiter in the game setup.
I'm going to be trying out mapping and modeling soon.

Disabling VTOL factories effectively disables VTOLs. There really isn't need for a separate limiter.

I know, that's why I added the next bit of VTOL only games, save tanks and structures of course.
We'd need factories to get the trucks, but then people would be able to get tanks as well...
Maybe I'm being too specific and it wouldn't be used for anything other than that, but I think it'd be fairly useful.
