I will be switching from a slider to a drop-down, not because the drop-down is better, but because by the time we're done overhauling the game, there'll be no room for a slider. :|

i'm 22 yrs old, and all i tend to do, is think, and bring up new ideas, maps, even full games... wired thing is, i thought of a game from 3 different fusions
  • Freelancer - As the main force of the game its self
C&C - As the war engine, where you build and create forces, and capture star systems and such
MMORPG - online gaming, such as Spaceinvasion and such, where you meet loads of players, either as enemies, or to form a space federation
To me, its getting to me, thinking of ideas, just cant find the right source to develop them, or even the people, i am not developer, but am filled with loads of Wrong/Right ideas, but most of the times, i can never truly make/build them :stressed:

"Sorry for double post"
Drop-down seems a good idea, but the type, where you click it and changes, sounds better, but its entirally up to the admins choice, there the people that makes this game, worth playing :D

Hey sorry, but I couldn't resist
Anyway, Zarel, are you really thinking about making smiley thingies, or names for the difficulty levels? Or both?

sounds like another idea here.... (Oh oh), with a drop-down thingy, sounds like there could be another drop-down thingy on the other side... sounds to me like an AI Strategy, you know, "Turtle" Defends his base, or like "Steam Roller" just constantly sending his force at you, maybe even "Swarm" that sends a constant wave of Vtol, hmmmm xD

This is much more complicated because it involves changing many factors of the AI, such what kind of units to build and what type of defenses, etc., I think.
Difficulty levels modify the boosts/penalties the AI gets, mostly.

Probably it'll take more time to have really different types of AI (with clear behaviour change). But when it does, we definetely should have a "Random", so that the player may choose not to know what he's going up against.
That, with the "Impossible" AI difficulty setting, would make for a real challenge.

Seek for help in the help section:
http://guide.wz2100.net/w/#weapontable - this table describes each damage type bonuses/penalties.
http://guide.wz2100.net/weapons#type - this section of the guide briefly explains how damage types work, and mentions what weapons are which type of damage, also.
And a general advice, not for this particular case, but all: Try to squeeze the maximum you can from the "Advanced Search" tool. Also, carefully reading the Frequently Proposed Ideas sticky will also help you to post in the right topics instead of creating redundant ones. Redundant topics are not a crime but hurts netiquette ;)
