Experimental Units?

Post by Steam »

Experimental end game units that cost Tons of power but have lots of health and you can still customize then how ever you want but they have larger bodies and legs.
My ideas:
Nearing the end of a skirmish battle when you have lots of research done but you want something a little... Larger, you can make something like a, Experimental Laboratory, you then can design and build massive units that can have more than 1 weapons (i know dragon armor can already support 2 weapons). You could make like bots that are standing and could have arms that on each can have an attachment like a plasma cannon or something. It would be good if they could also have a engineering attachment on their arm as well so you can then build and fight with it.

Please tell me if there is a mod for this.

Thanks. :D

umm... I don't know if you noticed but Warzone is not Supreme Commander.

SupCom is cool and all but experimentals don't really fit warzone.
In general, if you see glowing, pulsating things in the game, you should click on them.

For an example of why experimentals don't fit warzone...

Go in to cheat mode (Shift + Backspace) in a skirmish (single player) game.

Press Return key and type in "give all" (without the quotes) and press Return key again to submit the cheat code.

Go in to the vehicle design tool. Choose hover propulsion, dragon body (the big red one with 2 turrets) and then while you're selecting what weapons to add you'll notice a new VERY BIG weapon like that on top of a Gauss Cannon Fortress. Put two of those on the dragon body.

Then build some at a factory and go play with them... ;) They completely pwn everything in their path, even late game when the enemy has researched all upgrades they still don't stand a chance against these superweapons.

Also: warzone is a post-apocalyptic survival game, not an interplanetary domination megalomania game :P

That said, I do enjoy interplanetary domination megalomania very much.

Personally, I've oftentimes seen the fortresses, the Satellite Uplink, and the LasSat Command Post as being closest in terms of functionality to the various experimental structures from the Supreme Commander series, what with their high costs, long build times, and their potential to more heavily influence the outcomes of matches compared to lesser units or structures. Also, if you're willing to do some modding, I'm sure that you could probably add the equivalent of a Mavor from SupCom, or a Loyalty Gun from SupCom2, or give the Super Transport (a controllable multiplayer version of the Campaign transport) many times more HP, and make it many times more expensive and time-consuming to build, than even the most expensive, or most durable, Dragon-bodied vehicle that power (money) could buy.
