Testing, testing, funny FlaME :D

Here is the map I made today, for 1-4 players (64x64). Unlike the fortress one, this one is designed for quick and bloody game. It's a very low oil one : you have only one oil in base, and your second one is in the center of the map, not far from the 3 other player's. Therefore, you won't have time to spend before engaging battle.

There is another oil for each player in a scavenger base, but it's well guarded. Be carefull before opening them, the scavengers can anyway not leave their base as long as the front towers are not destroyed. I you don't like them, you can turn them off and you'll get several outside fortified points.

At the beginning, you have a small intervention group (1 MG, 1 flammer, 2 healers), so you can start immediatly to harrass you oppenents as they are building their second derrick. If you started with the base (which I recommend : it's not a big one and the game is supposed to start quickly), you'll also have a cyborg factory to start production immediatly. It's a gang war, after all :wink:

all look good but, it is the urban terrain map so skyscrapers are appropriate on it but babr hut, ruin 3, old factory, ruin 1, barbwarehouse 2, barbwarehouse 1 are features appropriate for the arizona terrain maps, so the players will see them as blue errors while playing.

You have to also ask others how it is with mixing features on maps with 3.1 as there is a mod, or maybe just normal way to do so.

In this way or the other you need to state in description for what kind of use the map is when it is different than usual.

Hum, yeah, I always test my maps on 3.1, were the problem is solved, thx for pointing that. However, I just opened it in 2.3.9, and it's not too bad. The texture is from another building, but the ouput is still ok.

I take the occasion to upload a version with an oil more in each base. After some tests, it was really too low in ressources ^^

Factories and warehouses should work on all tilesets. Ruins, yeah, are arizona-only.

Ouch. No trucks at start (two combat engineers, which is similar to one truck, but allows capturing oil in parallel), Three oils per player. This is going to be interesting.

I mean, every 2x2 battle on this map will end after the first encounter (the one who looses the first tank dies, hardly having enough power to rebuild it), and thus won't be of much interest.

But FFA games might be pretty long and interesting for the same reason (nobody can afford attacking a neighbor unless it is absolutely safe for his tanks, cause the other neighbor will crash him instantly), so everybody will try to avoid the fight for as long as possible).

By the way, since maps with pre-placed combat units don't appear often (and even more rarely they are interesting), this map helped us detect some bugs in the game! (:
