The only messages I've got when I was unable to join that channel were related to authentication issues, it never said banned.
Maybe there are other restrictions too, but your case is different.

impossible, i never joined -dev before
i think there is something with registration in IRC, may be i registered incorrect

Use of the web client is banned in in the -dev channel; to get around this you could request (from the irc admins) a custom cloak or simply use an actual client.

Someone else could use that IP before or even it could be banned accidentally (wrong number).

i started use IRC only for WZ and had not plans to dload any onther clients exept web client

KVIrc has an OSX version, though I've never seen. I can say the only difference I've seen between the KVirc in WinXP vs. Ubuntu is the system default font.

I have Colloquy on my iPhone, and it's nicer than the free IRC app I found at the time IIRC there's some sort of bouncer feature you can use if you have it on computer + iPhone.

One of the devs at work also just told me he uses Colloquy so I'll give it a go. Well, once I finish writing up reports from all today's meetings at work I really should stop browsing these forums during tea breaks - hours pass!
