end of the site?
[REMOVED]
[REMOVED]he told me not to swear then he goes on a swearing spress that has been unmatched and the devs still leave those posts up and don't edit what was edited in all my posts before?
People, don't quote things that break the rules. It is as simple as that.
We have ZERO tolerance for this kind of stuff. In this case, the issue was dealt with, and see this thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8876
And don't try to start flamewars please.

Reason: Don't quote those kind of things, it is NOT ALLOWED on the site, never was, and never will be.

Re: end of the site?
During phases of development, software always encounters a few bumps. If it wasn't for people like Per and the other devs working their way through those bumps, WZ would have died along with Pumpkin Studios and we'd all still be using MS-DOS and the internet wouldn't exist.
I can understand people not wanting something they've been playing for a long time to change, but at the end of the day it's a vital part of keeping the game alive. Bumps in the road just come with the territory, they'll be smoothed out over time.
I just wish lav could have recognised that the recent releases are not final versions, they are development snapshots that enable the dev team to get feedback from the community during development so they can fix bugs and regressions before the final release. If that feedback didn't come until after the final release then it would be too late and much harder to make changes.

Though it was terribly sad to see Coyote commit public self-immolation and embrace hate every step of the way downward - after nearly a decade of positive service, as well having been a conciliatory force on countless occasions of turmoil over those years..
.
I strongly doubt it. I've been eye-witness, on the ground, to the game / community survive far worse, many times, since 1999.end of the site ?

Re: end of the site?
I wasnt going to justify zany snickering ways like a kid with a new bag of lollies but i will respond.
I must point out over the years lav coyote has done a great service for warzone he is a wealth of knowledge in many things he even has a web site with lots of info even though he took it off his profile i will keep using it.
I just like to say he may have other issues beside warzone and seeing things change here to his dislike has pushed him just that too far I dont think condemn him to exile for ever is a good thing let him rest and he maybe will return refreshed
Anyway I hope he does well.

I believe in redemption but it takes an uncommon bigness of heart on all sides for it to truly take hold.Berg wrote:........

As do I. I especially hope he sincerely renounces the hate-filled words and extends a genuine apology where it is due. Come what may, that has to be part of it, I believe, to be well indeed going forward.Berg wrote:Anyway I hope he does well.

It's too bad to see this (and the posts he got banned for earlier). He shouldn't get worked up over master or beta releases too much.

Yep, stagnation is far worse than even controversial changes.aubergine wrote:During phases of development, software always encounters a few bumps.
Moreover, "who codes, decides", you can always create fork, but it's better to unity than divide and only create varieties through mods.
Also, I don't see any big changes, comparing to 2.3 (except that optional changes for displaying minimap), most of them were probably done earlier, everything is changed in public (available through git and trac) so everybody could get involved, at least through IRC discussions.

Re: end of the site?
I also need to get on to that channel at some point so I can hassle Per with millions of JS API questions
Heh, that's prolly why it's a closed channel LOL.

#warzone2100 has no restrictions and they are there too.
Also probably the only restriction for -dev channel is to have registered user name on IRC server.

No, they just put restrictions to have less noise.

how i can be banned if i never joined this channelEmdek wrote:[17:08] == #warzone2100-dev Cannot join channel (+b) - you are banned
seem ALL people banned except few ones
it's not funny. for example i wanted to make something good in wz, but without help from developers it is useless
