is there someone out there that is familiar with this topic and can you PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, put it into language that all of us can understand. which is the best over all license that will create the least amount of head pains :dash1: and stress levels. :stressed: thanks.

The devs prefer CC0 I believe. Because it gives away all the relevant right. The simplest ever, but someone might sell post cards with your map as modern art.

Personnaly, I prefer CC-By-SA. This is I give away about everything except :
-BY : Reuser must mention me in the contributors some way or another
-SA : "share alike". He need to redistribute the derived work the same way. So my work stay free and reusable.
They will still be able to sell post cards, but with my nick in the corner and a free download on their site.

I'm not sure about the other options in FlaMe.

CC-BY-SA is best choice IMHO

not meaning to be blunt, but why is Flame being mentioned without mentioning world editor32beta. it still works. anyways, thankyou for the reply. it is welcomed. i for one hate the lawyer-eze that makes up ALL licensing B.S. if they would only speak in plain english with out all the B.S. we would all be better off. :annoyed:

The only license I have seen that does that is the WTFPL.

yes. i agree that CC-BY-SA is a good choice after reading the short HR version.

and that wtfpl is not a good choice unless you actually don't give a (darn) :lol2: .
