tested on my system with lav map, fps are around 3 to 20, 20 only when i scroll to unexplored map. graphic are bad but sound are good, i was thinking to create ticket to add option to turn off audio while playing,since i was hoping there's some fps improvement when i toggle it to off while playing

To turn off audio, start game with the --nosound command line parameter.

Dude, don't make me angry ... if you want the game to be better, don't make us quarrel up there. lol crappy hardware. my system is well above what most people have. the vid card alone was $600.
if you are so smart then what else was changed between 2.3.9 and the master version? that other dude said it was because of qt bullshit and that is why 2.3.9 runs better it don't have that qt bullshit in it

The question in this particular thread is what was done to the latest master snapshot to make it slower than the previous for the original poster. There was the same Qt in both snapshots, so your whining about that is off topic here. I believe we have identified some potential causes of this particular slowdown, and hope that the next snapshot will be at least as fast/slow as the one before this.

As to the Qt/SDL discussion here, Cyp was only jokingly sarcastic. We have made the use of Qt for graphics optional in master now, and SDL will be making a comeback (you can configure with either Qt or SDL for graphics at compile time). Then we will have to see if that makes a noticeable difference.

does that mean you will offer both versions so we can test each one? or are we supposed to compile it ourselves?

Actually it would be nice if we just compiled both versions (when qt and sdl stuff is all available), then both land in one installer.

thanks ezio - i was getting to the point of thinking it was just my hardware. :) now i know it is not. and as is stated - there is a possible fix in the offing. great. :)
