Flame problems

Post by jsteel »

I'm a new map maker looking to undertake a pretty hefty project involving the (as accurate as possible) reconstruction of campaign maps and making them suitable for multiplayer use. My problem is, version 1.23 of Flame doesn't seem to work right on Windows XP, which is what I use. Is there a way to get it to work, or will I need an earlier version? Will my efforts be more difficult in an earlier version?

If that is all i know, i can only reply "it works well for me, you know" (: Unfortunately, our telepathists are currently on a vacation :dontknow:

Did you install .NET4? Did you download the tileset and objectdata?

Does the program start at all? What is the exact error message you are getting? Why exactly do you think the way it works is "not right" in the first place?

I have all the tilesets and object data, the problem is I'm having trouble getting it to locate the directories.

have you extracted the folder from the zip to somewhere on your computer?
have you clicked the "Add" button once in the tilesets section and then again in the object data section, then navigated to the extracted folder and selected it?

Yes, I've done all that. It continues to tell me that it's not receiving all the files.

I'll try again just to make sure.

Yes. Not sure if I posted earlier, but I have extracted all files. It's claiming that it can't located the various files in the folders, and I'm not sure how to fix that.
