There's never enough help on Warzone. :D

Boris, what is it you're trying to do with the .exe? Maybe I can help you somehow?

The source code is freely available. I compile my own on Ubuntu, because it tends to run better on that platform for me.

And there's nothing you can change in the .exe that will make it more or less compatible with a mod.

Seems to me that you should instead be looking into the files of base.wz and mp.wz -- you'll find everything you need there.

BESIDES -- and I've seen you on other threads, Boris -- IF you were working on a mod that required you to change the .exe in some way, you'd need to know C++. And judging from what you're posting, you have little to NO programming experience.

So I'll put it as nicely as possible -- you have NO reason to change the .exe code for a mod to work. EVER. Unless you're trying to repack the .exe to contain a virus or malware, and I'm beginning to suspect that is your goal.

Using PEExplorer only solidifies my opinion. If you want to develop, download the necessary tools -- the RIGHT tools. Not that PEExplorer crap. You won't get anywhere with it. If your goal is TRULY to contribute, then read the Development FAQ and start from there.

And yes, this IS the "nice version" of my post.

You have my attention -- and that's not always a good thing.

Tools for everything apart from three things you're not going to do? Would you mind telling us what are you trying to do and who told you (link?) to do this weird thing that is neither of the ones mentioned above?

Again, i'm sorry for offtopic in this holy thread

It's ok.

Boris, you joined in April 2010. You've spent "10 years playing and creating Warzone". You want *me* to link to the tools?

Sure. It's not rocket science.

Let's assume you're using Windows.

The first thing you'll need is the source code, which is cross-platform and works on just about anything. Download the source tarball for "Linux" (but it's actually for everything) Get that here.

Then you'll need to know how to compile it. Learn how here.

Now you've built your own flavour of Warzone. You may modify the source code as you wish, using your favourite text editor.

And yes, it's THAT easy.

Make a new thread explaining what it is you're trying to do. Maybe I'll understand better.

Alrighty, moving right along. Mission 8 has about 80% of its' script done. All that's left to add to it are:

- User-friendly directions and flavor text
- Objective markers (not that we're going to need many)
- A graceful way to get the player into the zone (since Transport is STILL being screwy).

This mission is going to be a GRIND. Nexus has had two YEARS to dig in. The "Full Frontal Assault" will NOT work here. From the get-go, you'll be under attack. You'll have a difficult time getting out of the starting area .. at least, for the first 14 minutes.

Nexus can and WILL defeat you if given the chance. Do NOT give him that chance. :P

This should be ready for testing within a week.
