Well the fact that Geralt acts like a 14 year old who's never seen a girl... The game play is cool but that's a useless waste of dev time that could have went to more monsters and such

Re: Unforgettable Games That You Have Ever Played
milo christiansen with all the respect.. do you know the game is based on the books saga ?? to understand the games jokes, which were extremely hard to translate into other languages as they use various speaches from not nowaday times too, to understand the spirit of the game, its environment.. you have to read the 5 books about the witcher, each one has separate title, and it is extremely important to read them in the order they were made to be read, published. And there is also a short story added to a set of various stories in other book by the same author.Well the fact that Geralt acts like a 14 year old who's never seen a girl...
The author is called Andrzej Sapkowski, and the saga is one of the best Fantastic books i have ever read.. just excellent.. with great plot, humour and action. There was a movie and series based on the book, not very well i dare say not wart watching it, the budget of Polsh movie industry is terribly pour..
Then the first Witcher game appeared and then Second as you know
Do believe me, to understand and feel the games spirit entirely you have to read the whole saga, i assure you you will be happy. I do hope the translation is as good as possible here.
about ninety percent of the fans say the first one the game, reflects the books spirit in a very good way, the second is i shall say in progres of judgement, but still it is a masterpiece for me, and i do not speak about the Aurora nad graphics, but the story and system of all stuff itself.
Sorry if I saund like a fan, but I am in fact, although I try to be objective.
Ok to sum up
What you have not been told in the game.. is the fact that when the witchers are made, due to mutation they begin to be how to say sexless, no this thing that make you a man, at leas visually, but when Geralt was made soething went different, he almost died, many did during the trial actually.. but he did not, and is one of a kind.. als o as all witcher when you touch one you feel strange vibrations, the sexless witchers could do nothing, but Geralt soon realised that it atracts women very much, and as a man with a good taste, he had few really nice ladies in his life
I do know, witchers one cards to collect, those things are chldis inded, it was even said by CD REd studio programmers, in second part the Sex thing is approched in more adult way. Even the players said collecting this card was how to say nocely, inappropriate and what for.
Sorry but I loved the book years ago, and even crappy movie and series, if you like watch it, but I am warning you it is not liker Transformers or Matrix. And I love the game now
If you have any questuions abut The Witcher I am happy to help then
The book was translated into many languages, and is available ob big shops, even interet ones, i mean the saga

Wow, same here!Shadow Wolf TJC wrote:In fact, Red Alert 2 was the 1st game in the C&C franchise that I ever got into, and my 2nd rts game as well.
I was happy to see that feature return in C&C3. The one mission where you HAD to use it was interesting.Shadow Wolf TJC wrote:...while also borrowing some gameplay features from Tiberian Sun (which allowed you to power down structures to allowcate power to other structures)...
Those were some pretty neat features. They tended to complicate things, though. C&C3 was a fair bit more complicated and technical that its predecessors.Shadow Wolf TJC wrote:...and to build more than 1 structure, infantry, vehicle, or aircraft at a time, unlike in previous games). It even introduced a couple new features to the old C&C formula, such as surveyers and cranes....
They don't call themselves "The Forgotten" for nothin'.Shadow Wolf TJC wrote:...or the Forgotten's involvement in the story...
Placing structures is a whole lot more of a pain in 3D, non-tile-based environments. Take Generals as an example, with its ability to rotate structures.Shadow Wolf TJC wrote:What's wrong with switching from a 2D perspective to a 3D perspective?
Red Alert 2 and also Tiberian Sun (to some extent) could do that, if I understand what you're saying correctly. Tanks on cliffs had major advantages over tanks at the bottom of said cliffs.Shadow Wolf TJC wrote:I personally don't care about graphics all that much, though I do think that a 3D perspective has the potential to introduce new gameplay mechanics, like firing from a higher altitude to hit enemies at a lower altitude from further away than normal, or using cliffs to shield your units from artillery fire.
I seem to have confused 3D with non-tile-basing.Shadow Wolf TJC wrote:I don't know what advantages in terms of gameplay a 2D or 2.5D perspective could offer over a 3D perspective.
In TS and RA2, the whole map was divided into rhombus-shaped spaces called 'cells'. A vehicle occupies one of these cells completely, and three infantry units can usually fit on one. Buildings also occupy a certain pattern made up of these cells. It all had a wonderful simplicity to it.
C&C (again, with the exception of Generals) should have stayed tile-based, IMO. Or at least its structures should have (and yes, I know that C&C4 had tile-based buildings).

All is good, I said from my point of view trying to be obiective as much as I could. Not to offend anyone but the books aren't that good, and I normally like fantasy
Maybe they did not manage to translate it as it should be entirely (old polish language is sometimes used)
Yes thats the factI have read some of the books and the game story is true to the series
I dont understand this sentence.. can you paraphraze please ?? the only thing I can figure out by myself is that you gave it A - grade which in fact is very good, but who knows what you were to say, maybe something like I still count it as a crap.but I still count that as a -
Anfd thanx for sharing your opinion, when you have some more time and nothing more important to do you may try to read the rest of the books.

FINAL FANTASY 7!!!
The greatest game ever made in my opinion. it had both an awesome hero and the worst enemy of anygame. not to mention one of the most well written stories ever seen in a game... plus at one certain point it made me bawl my eyes out like a little girl... if you played the game you know what im talking about
Next i would have to say Xenogears... probably the most underrated game of all time. It was comparable to FF7; but it just lacked the memorable characters.
Call of Duty World at War there are two reasons: one it introduced me to Nazi Zombies which i am more addicted to than crack. and two if you tried to beat it on Veteran Difficulty... I dont care how calm of a person you are you were cussing and screaming at your TV worse than the Rage Quit guy on Youtube. ^_^ Deff an impression you wont forget.

Re: Unforgettable Games That You Have Ever Played
I have heard about it many times when I played on PSX One, and many say it is amazing game and I do believe. I have seen movies from it, and many people who have finished it told me about it.FINAL FANTASY 7!!!

Final Fantasy XIII is the game I desite to have, I know almost nothing about all the series, I only read or hear about it here there and everywhere, but I will buy PS 3 one day and a big TV to be able to play Final Fantasy XIII, I simply love how it looks like, the characters, colours, I even have its soundtrack on my I pod. And it is said to be very long, thats great ! and there are thousands of statistics, which I love to gain slooooowly step by step in any game
To sum up I entirely understand you
I will search how the Xenogears look like on the web in a moment.
And I did not play I thin any Call of Duty yet..
Damn if only I could buy PS3 and big TV.. FF XIII i will get you one day.. I would like to have PS 3 just for this one game, at least at the very beginning

Re: Unforgettable Games That You Have Ever Played
mmm well you gained a certain amount of experience with each enemy you kill so who knows how many enemies youll end up killing before you get to maxed out stats. Well probably the best aspect of the final fantasy series is that each game is independent of itself and they have nothing to do with each other. So if you start at #13 you aren't missing anything storywise if you decide not to go back and replay any of the older ones... though mos of them are very good games in their own right even if they are a bit dated. Personally i play RPG's for their story so graphics arent too important to me.
FF13 is on the Xbox 360 as well. Ive heard on the PS 2 you can download some of the older games and play em on your system.
Yeah COD is pretty awesome as far as shooters go. Halo also. Xenogears is a little known and greatly underestimated game; but its story is off the charts as far as im concerned.

Re: Unforgettable Games That You Have Ever Played
neo_dragon2k I see
I am happy to hear that the plot of the FF games is not related strongly or at all to each other
what I want to point here it is that I do not desire the game because of the grphics, I simply liked it from the very beginning, it just fits my senses I will say
the colours, music and even what I am seeing n the screen
I had something similar with Metal Gear /solid and Dino Crisis 2
thats the titles I can recal from memory now, but there was for sure more
I also love to gain statistics by slooowly killing 999999999 enemies on my way, by the way, can I kill additional enemies, for example go away from main road to the end of the game, or it is impossible in FF 13 ?? can I evolve my haracter/s maximum, or no, and I know it is hours and hours but still
and speaking of x box, I do prefer PS 3, but only personally, because I spend life on PS One
i am not saying x box is worse, I am just not good at this stuff
thanx for the game titles too

Re: Unforgettable Games That You Have Ever Played
well it really depends on which Final fantsy game your playing to answer that question. Some of the final fantasies have more freedom of movement than others. Though none of them have them have the freedom of movement found in say the elder scrolls games. I cant speak for FF13 because i didnt play very much of it; but most of the games give you a world map you can walk on but most areas are inaccessible intill much later in the game. (ie you unlock some kind of vehicle) well as far as the enemies go its quality over quantity. little piss ant IMP A will give you say about 100 experience points where as badass demon dragon will give you 50,000 points. i made up those names; but i think you get my point. I suppose if you wanted to spend the next 5 months killing a billion piss ant IMPs then you will max out your stats; but it would be boring beyond words.

Re: Unforgettable Games That You Have Ever Played
Well I ask about FF Xiii now, as I am somehow delighted by it
Please tell me what do you mean by some sort of vehicle ?? you dint mention its name just like that or the devices used to transport are hard to describe ?? we know it is a fantasy
Thank you for describing the experience too, well I like it, it makes you to focus or play with style instead of clicking and eating a dinner at the same time I suppose

Re: Unforgettable Games That You Have Ever Played
well throught all of the games you get a variety of vehicles you can use as the game progresses. in most of the games you can get a Chocobo (A giant Chicken about the same size as a horse and used as one) and sometimes you can gain access to a boat of some sorts. Usually in all the games you end up with a flying type of device like an airplane or a blimp or something. As i recall in final fantasy 8 i think you got a space ship; but it didn't actually go into space... just flew around all over the world.
