No. I dont really agree with you. That is an open source project that start to have issues with user interface cluttering. hehe.

Techology sharing is a cool option to me anyway.

That said, I would certainly be interested in hearing from people who like this feature. So far none has spoken up for it.
Well, I'm in favor of having allies share technology, but I'm cool either way.

There are valid uses for research sharing, like when you have n00bs on your team, and trying to help them understand how the game works.
I don't think it should go, and I guess a toggle is the best thing, but as the interface is currently limited, it is a bit harder to find a good location for the sharing resources symbol.
The issue in the current research sharing isn't where the symbol is located (though it's been made more obvious in master) it's that 2 players can spend power on research with out any extra benefit (i.e. research faster, or split the cost *hint hint*).
