it don't pay to be honest

Post by medusa »

why is it when people try to be honest on this site all they get back is the threat of the ban hammer?
when something is broken then something needs to be done to fix it. :3
when people point out what is broken no need to get all defensive. :3

Give us a bit of credit. We do know there are problems. Pointing them out is easy, what's needed are people working on solving them.

And while I at least don't want to ban you, if you start sockpuppetting I'll change my mind very fast.

I doubt it's pointing out issues that you've noticed that bothers people, it's bashing the project the majority of your posts.
This is why some features aren't implemented: http://forums.wz2100.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=7490&view=unread#p87241

All I'll say is that most of the problems you've pointed out are known, and that some times its better for new members to be seen and not heard for a few weeks so that they can learn a little on their own before they act all annoying :annoyed:

Questions are good, question after question that a quick search would answer are bad.

The "I know how to fix all the problems with this, just listen to me" attitude is also not a way to get listened to. I know, I do something similar once and a while :P . If you actually DO something your voice gets more important and people pay attention (once in a while :) )
In general, if you see glowing, pulsating things in the game, you should click on them.

somehow, i doubt pointing out that we all know of the problems and what is needed to fix them, as he has to this point, not advised any of us what his particular strengths are ie: coding / mapping / documenting... or testing the heck out of all the nightly releases ( even though nightly is a misnomer due to not always releasing nightly).

anyways. if all he wants to do is become an annoying interference, then congrats - medusa - you have succeeded beyond all your wildest dreams. if you cant do any thing but complain - then just go somewhere else where that is appreciated. thanks. :)

all medusa needs to do is what i asked. give the particulars on what it is ( if anything) that he is willing to do for the community.

no concrete answer means nothing and i for one vote to ban perm. is a simple request to provide the partiulars is it not??? again if not - you know what to do. :)

Just because someone has an unwelcome opinion doesn't mean that they deserve to be permanently banned. Since when are open source projects totalitarian regimes?

2point<large number> was another throw away suck puppet for one banned-for-eternity ex-user. Of course he'd be objecting.

I don't see how it is related to open-source.

Also, the threat of banning is not because of an unwelcome opinion, but an unwelcome way of voicing them.
