Personally, I'm surprised Valve has made a move like this, putting one of their best games up for free download.

If you haven't played TF2, I would definitely recommend trying it out.

They charge for all the cool stuff, they can keep implementing small new things and charging for them, and keep the money flowing.

They've kept it so that you never need to buy anything, though. You can get just about any of the cool stuff either by random drops, trading, or crafting; it'll just take longer than buying it straight up.

I heard that if you had it bought before this, you have a bigger drop rate...

BTW... I think that tf2 might be the best deathmatch online shooter ever! And now more because it's free!

Sounds like a rumor to me. If I'm not mistaken, though, free accounts can't drop hats (which really isn't a big deal because hats, for the most part, are purely cosmetic).

It's actually not a deathmatch online shooter. It's team-based, hence the 'Team' in its title...

Well... when I usually play though there are two teams, people tend to go mostly on their own.
It's funny, but sometimes, it does really work!
