fix multilayer lag and freezes

Post by youbob »

The problem number one problem with the multiplayer side of the game is maintaining Internet Legacy. As a host of most of the

games that I play on MP, I have to watch the pings for a moment. What I'm looking for is something to tell me that the player ping

is stable enough for game play. This is proven when his or hers ping doesn't get any higher than 200 or stays a constance 90 ping

level.

However, sometimes peoples pings will take a huge plunge after the a few minutes of game play. Once the ping outputs shows

this, "???", then the game freezes. Now I do understand it really depends on the persons Internet connection. But I notice in a wide

host of other games, most 3D, don't have hardly any lag issue; even if they expect a wide range of Internet connection.

My main question is simple. Can WZ fix and improve it's Internet Legacy issues. Maybe larger ports are need, to allow more

data to pass throw.

Maybe more connections, as in more open ports could help this game with it's issues of Internet Legacy.

I hope the next version work hard on the subject discus here.

Thank you for your time.

Hmm. You know, I get the same problem. Sometimes it crashes so badly players leave my games. But larger ports are usually the most used ones (guessing :?).

Wellyeah, the whole point of master releases is to fix multiplayer lag and freezes inherited from the original game.

In general, if you see glowing, pulsating things in the game, you should click on them.
