Using a map

Post by bigseb »

Hi.

I downloaded a map and moved it to the maps folder. Now how do I select that map for a single player skirmish?

Thanks

It should be right there:
(built-in maps go first)
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Check your map folder and see if the map has the extenson .WZ
If it has extension .ZIP simply rename it to .WZ
If your using Internet Explorer that is the cause of the renamed file.
Read this to correct problem so it doesn't occur again viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7841&p=80498&hilit= ... ect#p80498

Interesting. Perhaps Opera followed suite with IE??? I don't know.

The reason IE downloads the file as a Zip is I had read Microsoft decided not to allow renamed office files to be opened in IE for security reasons. So if IE detects an office file it is automatically renamed to .zip

I tested this on maps and the videos. Their algorithm is not consistent, it detects .WZ files as office files renaming them to Zip but not always. The very same file will sometimes download as .WZ and sometimes as .ZIP, you don't get any more inconsistent than that. So obviously there is a huge error in their algorithm and in my opinion the settings in IE are incorrect because of this. I changed my settings like I posted in the link and the files now download as .WZ every time.
