Hosting muliplayer games

Post by Tyler22 »

I think there should be in the next update make it so people with wireless connection can host games in lobbies with not issues. Because I can't host them and from what I have read only can with wired connection lobbies.

You must port-forward to host Warzone from behind a NAT; wireless networks generally use NATs.

There's a link to a port forwarding guide in the FAQ: http://guide.wz2100.net/faq#ports

There are ways around this, but they're fairly difficult and no one on the development team has that kind of time.

Some wireless cards and or USB modem sticks that do not have a access point via router, do not allow you to forword ports or act as a host. Check with the manufacture of your card and or your ISP.

When he said Norton I was assuming Norton Firewall, not the antivirus.

It sounds strange for me when someone uses commercial firewall. A good virus database might be expensive, but firewall is a rather primitive thing, isn't it? There definitely must be a few good free firewalls around

I'm not going to knock Norton products because I have used some of their products since the DOS days including their Firewall and Antivirus. Their products are good and they are a leader in the industry. Not to long ago Bill Gates hired Norton to be the Vice President of Microsoft. But yes there are some good free firewalls out there. Its a matter of preference. The best free firewall actually is the one that comes with and is integrated into your operating system.
