Ceasefire and close range structs.

Post by bendib »

Perhaps the devs could implement a ceasefire, return fire, and short range option for defensive structures? Maybe it could be made possible to give structures to allies as well? These are of course ideas for master.

What's the point of ordering defensive structures to not attack enemies if they were designed for defense anyways? Being able to give structures to allies would be nice, as would being able to order structures to attack certain enemies in range.

For instance, you have an mg tower out in the middle of nowhere that you like because it shows you the enemy as they move around, but once it kills one of their tiny tanks, they decide it's a threat and kill it. With ceasefire that could be avoided.

Personally, if I was the one ordering those tanks around, I'd want to blast any enemy unit or structure that I come across anyways, even if it was an otherwise harmless sensor tower. My reason for doing that would be to deny any potentially useful information to my enemies. (The one main exception would have to be if I'm trying to be stealthy, though there doesn't seem to be any support for such. :P ) I don't know. It still seems like a rather questionable thing to implement for structures for me. :?

Right. But ultimately, it's up to the guys working on improving this game that'll decide whether or not to implement this feature (along with many other features that have been proposed). If this becomes a popular enough feature for them to implement, then good. Chances are that I'd personally wouldn't make much usage of it, especially if it's going to come under attack anyways.
