MOST WANTED - excuse me for insisting

Post by neilcoal »

anyone takes the time to answer these few questions i'll be grateful.

- i clearly remember playing campaign (back when the game appeared) with orange units (from the very start of campaign 1);
why not anymore? at least, can we change colour to a more bright one? PLEASE UNDERSTAND I DON'T MEAN MULTIPLAYER, so don't recommend me AGAIN to click on flag colour

- also in the initial game, there was easy to adjust brightness, while in the open source versions, there's no such button anymore (and they are very dark); if there's a way, HOW?

- any way for a repaired unit to automatically return to formation (to battle, to where the action is), instead of remaining at the repairing station?

- any mod in which bodies/towers can use multiple weapons simultaneously?

- anyone actually completed campaign of either standalone Nexus_Total_War (NTW, 250 MB size)
or standalone "warzone graphics modifications v1.0.0"?
many errors for me in both: NTW crashes consistently (actually, exits game),
while in WZGM i cannot progress to campaign 2
("failed to parse wrf/cam2/cam2change.wrf");
as a temporary fix, i tried using a v.2.3.7 savegame,
but i'm afraid of consequences, as research tree and therefore units differ

- as i had never been fond of flamers and such, can i skip researching them but still be able to access later weapons like 'heavy cannon', anti-tank rockets, advanced artillery (howitzers) & missiles?

- any particular reason to use cyborgs instead of tanks? or could i safely skip researching cyborgs & nexus (which i also never had used) but still obtain acces to those mentioned weapons? please simply answer yes or no, and not recommend me to study the tech tree - i already tried that, and my head still hurts

- any reason to use commanders instead of your own control over units, meaning: can they wage an efective war by themselves (i never noticed that back in the days, but perhaps i missed something); or are they brainless (only easying your task to now control one unit, instead of those endless clicks to control a massive army? by the way, i remember noticing commanders can accept very many mortars as subordinates, while only a few tanks.

MANY THANKS to whoever ANSWERS me (hopefully).

I think there's still the flag color choice in the Options screen for campaign.

Orange is not an option because that is the New Paradigm's color. If you could choose it before, it must have been either a bug, or the demo, which contained a few features that didn't make it into the 1999 retail version.

Gamma is something that's managed by the operating system. Look in your operating system's display preferences.

Assign it to a commander, or place the repair facility's rally point in the middle of your battle.

You don't need a mod, the Dragon body already supports multiple weapons. You'll need a mod for multiweapon structures, though.

I think those fail because those are multiplayer mods; they're not meant to be used in campaign.

This should have no consequences besides maybe missing phosphor bombs, in campaigns. In multiplayer, you'll also miss incendiary artillery, plasma cannons, thermite bombs, and plasmite bombs. If you're fine with this, go right ahead.

Cyborgs take less damage from cannons, rockets, rails, and missiles. They're also less expensive and often faster than the better-armored tanks.

Skipping cyborgs won't bar you from any non-cyborg tech, though. But you still need to research cyborg factory to progress in the tech tree.

Commanders have some degree of autonomy, but they won't attack things without you telling them. They're used mostly for the bonuses they give. See: http://guide.wz2100.net/commanders

Commanders treat artillery like mortars differently from subordinates like direct-fire tanks. They act like sensors, to be exact. See: http://guide.wz2100.net/sensors

The standalone Version of Nexus Total War has a Campain.
But it's just the second Beta and the first Mission is buggy at the End.
You can complete the first Mission with a little trick, but you'll crash for sure at the beginning of the second campain.
