pod cast review of warzone 2100

Post by InRetroSpectGremlin »

Hi everyone, tried to get in touch with you all through the admin but couldn't find an email, so sorry for the gauche nature of logging on to a forum with the sole purpose of highlighting our podcast.

Our team have just released our latest episode of Freeplay and we discussed - at length - Warzone 2100, among other things. We chose it as our "big free game" of the month and it would be great to get your feedback. You can find the show here:
http://www.inretrospectpodcast.com/2011 ... non-fodder or on iTunes / Zune Marketplace.

Again, sorry for being so forward, not our usual style of letting potentially interested parties know about our work

Reason: editid by lav_coyote25 after finding the actual podcast player.... is on not just one subject... is a good listen.

Hi guys, sorry for that, the link is now fixed and directs back to the main page here, so that our listeners can easily find the game to play after listening. AVA is next month's big game discussion. There should still be a link to the audio, just click play on that and you'll hear the show where we discuss WZ 2100.

Sorry again for the confusion.

pod cast button is here : perhaps if it had been labled as such and not had such a long musical intro all this would have been unnecessary. also the label of the post thread was not the best ( as spam is realy really hated here :annoyed: )... uses of that particular word shouldnt be in the header... anyways... have a listen - there is more reviews than just warzone 2100. :)

I admit, I was a bit distracted ( as usual) while listening to this, but I thought I should ask if Mr. Greg (aka The Expert) downloaded the video files? He made a comment about there not being any cut scenes, and running through missions blindly, as well as being rather clueless about "The Collapse." This sounds like a case of 'no video files' to me. There should be a cut scene at the start of every mission to better explain what you're suppose to do (and near the end of the game explains The Collapse).

Video files can be downloaded here (choose whichever suites your bandwidth). Also, the Windows installer will download and install the videos for you if the appropriate box is checked.

Glad he liked it anyway :D
This is why some features aren't implemented: http://forums.wz2100.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=7490&view=unread#p87241

Thanks everyone for your comments. Glad you're liking the show!

@Lav_coyote25 - We're having a think about how we display content on site, we'll definitely be thinking a bit better about where to put the "Play" button. Your image made me LOL by the way ;)

@effigy - I'm not 100% on that question, it's certainly possible and thanks for the link, I'll make sure he gets it.

I'm not on the show, obviously, but I enjoyed the game. It's really simple initially but it soon starts stacking on the ideas. The AI is surprisingly brutal too. That said, I have fat hands, so that may be why I found it so difficult.
