Warzone 2100 crash at startup (Power Mac)

Post by pabloflv »

I had installed the game as it says: move to applications folder and run. I got nothing but a sudden crash, the game does not even display the menu or intro image, nothing, double click, the game shows up in the dock, the menus change, but before getting in fullscreen mode closes itself saying nothing. Only the mac os x app crash dialog. Do anyone have experienced anything like this?

Specifications:
Processor: Overclocked 233 mhz to 300 mhz PowerPC G3 (I post this because maybe the processor is running to fast for the speed it was designed, if I try to get it on a cd start of mac os 9 it freezes, so maybe this setting is creating errors even here)
RAM: 512 mb
Disk: 20 gb disk (partitioned, the partition that contains the game has 4 gb free, so I don't think this can be a problem, but if you need the info, is here)
Video card: ATI Radeon 9200 pci mac edition with 128mb vram
Machine: Beige Power Macintosh g3
OS: Mac OS X 10.4.11
Resolution: 1600x900

PD: Sorry for my bad english

What version of Warzone are you using?

Please attach a copy of the crash report.

I'm using 2.3.7, I believe, I had downloaded it from warzone 2100 download link on this page.
No date or cumputer name, but it contains the crash information: Warzone.crash.log. I'm attaching it as I write this post.

I'm having the same problem. I'm running MacOS 10.4 on an eMac G3. It's not overclocked at all and has 1GB of RAM. I just barely downloaded the version on the homepage, whichever version that is. I haven't found the log yet but I'll see if I can get it uploaded.

EDIT: It is v2.3.7
And where were these instructions to copy the .app file to the applications folder? I had to figure it out myself.

And you still have not found it; that was a crash log for the WindowServer (this may point to larger issues though).

Having looked into this more I suspect that it is your GFX card not being able to support a sufficiently high version of OpenGL.

Having a G3 tower myself (in addition to my laptop) I would recommend retiring it from active duty and getting yourself a new intel mac (check out the minis they may be just what you need).
