Need to know if I can get stuff.

Im making a "Fan DvD" of Warzone 2100 for my assignment in HND Course (university level) and I was trying to find some of the stuff in the game like those new background images.

First I like to ask permission to use them.

Second If I am aloud to use them can I find them on a mac and if so where?

If I cant get hold of them from the game could I get them from the site?

I am going to be using Cinema 4D to make some high res videos (like the Intro film) and I was thinking of submitting them to the Warzone community to maybe replace the videos that are in it now (of course It may take me awhile to make all of them ) also when I have completed this assignment I would have a good way of spreading the word of this project and I would gladly give it as well as it does get my name out .

I'm not one of the developers I'm just a fan of the game so i can't say for sure but i can't see that being a problem as warzone is open source now and as i understand it is free for people to do with what they wish i could be wrong on that but I'm sure some one will correct me if i am

yeah I know about the copywright with warzone in general but I still wish to ask through mostly respect of the artists that made those new backgrounds (at least I think the copywright applies to them).

But I cant seem to find them on a windows or a mac folder which is odd.

Look inside the .wz files (hint: they are really zip files).

New videos are very welcome I have been making some assets for the Art Revolution project, as you can see here viewtopic.php?f=33&t=5136
The lowpoly models and textures are available for everyone on sourceforge, but I could also send you some hipoly stuff if you need it (the hipoly models are mainly used for baking and therefore have unnecessarily high polycounts and no textures, but I guess they can be useful if you bake them into medium-poly versions)

Just a small question guys.

There are some really good small clips like when you research a weapon the little video plays (the wireframe of the turret and ammo. The thing is its a ogg file so I cant really see them or use them even when I use VLC.

Do any of you know how I can convert a ogg file into a mov file so it can be played in quicktime? (how to do it on a mac would be best)

I would suggest installing the right components or getting a copy of ffmpeg and using that if you prefer the command line.

If you need it, I can propably help you out with some modeling/textures. I could propably do some simple animation, too, but since I use blender, exporting animation could be problematic.
