Re: Troubles with installing maps on linux (openSUSE OS)
Create it. It shouldn't exist by default, as far as i remember; built-in maps are hidden inside the game itself.
Also, you're supposed to know that directories starting from dot are hidden. To see them, use ls -a, or press Ctrl+H (in most GUI file managers; or look for a "show hidden files" button).

The ~ (tilda (Should be wavy)) means your home directory. The home directory contains your music folder, documents folder etc. If your using the Gnome desktop manager (the one without loads of fancy effects) ctrl+h is the shortcut to show hidden files as NoQ said.

Code: Select all
I've heard of desktop environment (that's what gnome is),Code: Select all
display manager (sounds closest, but unrelated to our problem),Code: Select all
file manager (the one that has shortcut)Code: Select all
and window manager (the one responsible for fancy effects). Also, i don't think compis is much farther from gnome than kde effects from kde.Having trouble using Wz2100 on Ubuntu? My compile guide is here : http://bit.ly/mNlqd2

Much better ^_^

No, gdm is a very little thing that manages the login screen.Gnome's short name is gdm
Yes, compiz is an alternative WM designed for gnome. Many people replace metacity with openbox or xmonad or whatever; compiz is even easier, since ubuntu usually has special buttons for enabling it.Really? I didnt think i could get transperent window borders.....

To show hidden folders in KDE, Open the folder manager and press ALT and dot (.)
