hi all
the sound keeps going weird and going silent as i move the screen around its like its trying to play the sound in 5.1 surround problem is while my sound card is capable of doing 3d sound i don't have a surround sound system for my computer which results in everything continually going silent which is extremely irritating is there a way to turn surround sound mode off and have it do normal stereo ?

so far as i am aware yeah this i think is something to do with warzone and not my sound card because the sound works but it shifts as i move the screen around relative to where my units are like its in surround sound mode because when go to the 3d sound demo in the audio manager of my should card in control panel i get a similar effect

as there have been few reply's to this looks as though I'm going to have to be a little more specific about the trouble I'm having
as I mentioned in my previous post the sound for warzone seems to work however its like its stuck in 3d mode while the music plays in regular stereo the sound effects seem to be directional
for example if i where to position a tank to the left of the camera and then have it start shooting at something i get the sound of it shooting only on my left side if i then move the screen so that the cam is placed directly over the top of the unit i get the sound effect of it shooting in stereo and if i continue to move the camera to the left the sound again shifts and i get the sound effect only on my right and if i then move the camera a little more so the units is now just off screen i get silence and can no longer hear the sound effects of the shooting
this is irritating it would be good if i had a surround sound system for my computer but i don't i only have regular desktop speakers and at night so i don't disturb anyone headphones and having the sound shift like that is distracting so I'd much rather it play all sound in regular stereo is there some way to turn off the directionality of the sound and have the sound play in regular stereo ?

your explaining it just right. it is part of the code. this also would happen if you were in a real battle... you can turn down the sounds in the pannel ... and eventually get used to it. been there, done that.
