Add more graphics options to the menu ;)

Post by NoQ »

Master builds are a little slow with my PC. Significantly slower than 3.0beta4. Since some new graphic features (all these lighting and tcmasks etc) seem to be the most obvious cause for this, i'd like to suggest creating menu options for disabling them. Even if it's not the cause of my problems, it'd make people a little more peaceful (:

I am rewriting large portions of the rendering pipeline in master so that it uses the GPU more and the CPU less, using shaders. This means that if the GPU is your bottleneck, the game will be slower than before. Writing multiple rendering pipelines is just beyond what we can do with the amount of manpower we have now.

Good to hear. v3.n is really unplayable as it is. The lag prevents the kind of quick responses that are often needed...

Bad to hear. master is really unplayable as it is. The lag prevents the kind of quick responses that are often needed... v3.0 is perfectly fast for me at max. graphic settings.

I've written about this elsewhere on the forum. I can get the speed on my PC, but then I get swivel-headed (28" monitor). I expect to be able to play a ten year old game on my laptop.

Keep up the good work, Per.
