Actually, I seem to recall that the editing feature is disabled on these forums after a topic has been around for a certain amount of days, so unless the admins give him special permission, I don't think this is feasable. It it's a good idea though - and BTW, your english is perfectly fine.District 9 wrote:Oh my... Those models are so awesome![]()
I hope they get implemented in the game soon
Hey, could you please edit the main post and get all the images of the work already done? I have showed this game to some friends and most of them liked it, but a few are not convinced that it is really good as it is just because of the visuals, and im gonna send them a link to this thread for them to see how good it is gonna be some day.
Thank yyou everyone, and sorry if my english is wrong or weird at any part(argh, now THAT got weird), im brazillian :p

Actually you can always edit the first post of any threads you "own". This was added for mapmakers and such so that they can always put the newest download in the first post.
In general, if you see glowing, pulsating things in the game, you should click on them.

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
Working on color texture, I'm starting to get sort of a routine on this
Btw, the medium hover texture is 256x512 while the light hover is 256x256. The heavy hover will propably also be 256x512...
The base colors are done, will add some paint scratches and a tcmask later.
About paint scratches:
At first I wished for an 8-bit tcmask to make realistic paint scratches (1-bit mask results in pretty high pixelization), but I later noticed that if you make the scratches as a separate layer and apply them on both the base texture (without pixelization) and to the tcmask (with pixelization) the final result will still be quite good and the pixelization won't be very noticeable

Was this a recent developement? Eh, I only recently came back to the forums, so I probably don't know what I'm talking about either way.milo christiansen wrote:Actually you can always edit the first post of any threads you "own". BTW, the medium hover looks great, Jorzi! Again, such a massive improvement over the paper-thin engines that were on the old model. Even compared to the rest of the early models, the old hover proplusions stand out as particularly bad IMO.

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
We've still only made the stuff from first campaign and there are still some propulsions left. Then there are of course the scavengers and general features. So there's still quite a bit of stuff left...
If you're interested in trying out blender(or some other 3d modeler) I can offer some help, just pm me

I've had a try at the heavy wheels, and I really think there should be 8 wheels instead of 6 since it's a heavy vehicle. I've borrowed some design characteristics from apc vehicles, but it still doesn't look quite like I hoped it would. Polycount is also pretty high at 156 tris, mostly because of the wheels..

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
Nice picture, I'll give it a try, it looks like a pretty cool design and I can propably save some polys on the rear wheels.
Btw, did you know wheeled vehicles are becoming an increasingly popular alternative to tanks because of their lighter weight, lower price and much higher strategic mobility (tracked vehicles usually need to be transported by train since they tend to suffer breakdowns when driving long distances on paved roads). Highly effective HEAT munitions also make heavy armour somewhat obsolete, which means it's smarter to just focus on crew survivability and low costs.

Thanks colditz, glad you like it
Finally got some updates on the heavy wheels. As you can see I have deviated quite a bit from the original, but I think the original was merely an enlarged version of the medium wheels and I thought the heavy wheels deserved their own look.
