Where's the BUILD icon?

I just started playing this, and I can't even get past the tutorial.

The tutorial starts by directing me to send a truck to build the oil derrick. No problem. Then I'm supposed to click the flashing BUILD icon. Where is it? There's nothing resembling a build icon anywhere on the screen.

I see two trucks, the non-functional oil derrick, the main building in the center, and what looks like a radar grid off to the lower right.

Any thoughts on this?

I'm playing on a 64 bit system, most recent stable build, GeForce GTX 260 NVIDIA card, and dual screens in full screen mode (windowed mode doesn't help, either). The platform is linux (Gentoo), and I'm running with the newest proprietary NVIDIA drivers.

Sorry, but no. The TAB key will turn on and off the power bar and the map, but the command panel remains nowhere to be found.

I checked the tutorial and they do not give you the full command panel they just tell you to select a truck and click on the oil, you have to wait for the message before clicking on the oil. If you still have problems upload a screenshot and let us know what version you are using.

I'm using version 2.3.6.

There's no command panel, no matter how long I wait. The power bar and map are there, however.

Is it just that there are no buttons or is the whole blue square not there?

Have you tried selecting the 2 trucks? The tutorial sometimes crashes, so you should try playing a skirmish game or the campaign to check.

The whole blue square isn't there. No crash on the tutorial. I'd love to finish the tutorial first, before I play a skirmish or campaign.

Also, the tutorial says click on the blinking build icon AFTER the oil derrick is finished. It has nothing to do with the oil derrick itself.

Hmm. Stupid idea here:
Is 1920x1200 your normal resolution, or maybe the icons are just out of screen?

Change the value to "1" (fullscreen=1)

Also try to reduce resolution
