Just nitpicking: do you think it could look better with three rows of plating instead of six? The way it is now looks more like it's made of bricks (even more so from min zoom).

Other than that, great model.

my "explanation" for the tower is that it's made of concrete elements, attached to the frame with bolts for easy repair/change, so It shouldn't really look like plating imo. (concrete armor is better than steel on buildings since it has a better strength to price ratio. Weight or bulk are less important for structures)

Thanks for the comments anyway :) Maybe you'll like it better with proper textures.

Started on the texture, concrete is based on a photo from cgtextures, with handpainted scratches and rust. Upper metal part is still unfinished.

Rear tower is shaded with normal map, front tower unshaded.

I really like the rust coming from the bolts (if it's on purpose). :)

Me too. And you can bet those rust marks are by design. :)

The concrete texture is excellent too as are the grooves which I believe will display nicely even at furthest zoom-out (Something Grim did to good effect with his new wall art mod though his crete texture wasn't as naturalistic as this I must say.... & I think the walls too would have benefited from re-barb rust stains. Though in the final iteration of his Cargo Containers he did achieve a splendid rusting bolts effect.)

Thank you guys :)
I tried not to overdo the rust, since I didn't want the tower to look too old ;)

Haven't posted here in ages (and not really much period), but I had to comment on the work you're doing, Jorzi. I just wanted to say that I continue to be wowed at how you're updating the Warzone 2100 look. I'm personally one of the guys who feels that any improvements to the engine should keep as close to the source as possible, and your models deliver that in spades. I don't know what's the current status on Art Revolution as a whole, but I second the sentiment that these should be put in the game as soon as possible.

Thank you CyclonatorZ, maybe it's just nostalgia, but I also prefer the original style of warzone as it is and I usually try to stay true to it.
Also respect to the artists who made the low-res but beautiful original textures. Sometimes I make random models which I texture using nothing but the original texpages, they really stimulate your creativity :)

By the way, here comes some more concrete
